Last Encore is such an interesting show, I really don't know how to rate it overall. The story is really great in concept, but it does drag a bit in places. One thing I will say for it, though, is that the animation and general atmosphere and vibes are impeccable. Episode 7 in particular is a masterpiece IMO. Overall I think a lot of your enjoyment of it will come down to how much you end up liking Nero as a character. Which, given your first impression of her seemed overwhelmingly positive, bodes well if and when you do decide to watch more of it.

In fact, in Type-Moon, they have a small quad of writers including Nasu himself, who is the lead author. In most cases, the writer who is responsible for a certain chapter or a certain story will be responsible for all the character designs. So for FGO, he set the pacing for the entire first arc, whilst writing Fuyuki, Camelot, Babylonia and Solomon. So he almost created all the servants present there (with a few exceptions such as Enkidu, who appeared in FSF before FGO). Apart from writing his own stuff, Nasu also sets the tone, general direction and major plots/key information to reveal for TM works in the grand scheme of things, including FGO, El-Melloi and so on, as well as reviewing all the work before they are sent off for production or publishing. He and Takeuchi basically manage the entire TM production. So yes, this man despite being in his 50s, is incredibly knowledgeable and creative, whilst somehow staying on top of the trends in games and anime. This fact has amazed a lot of VAs and production teams who worked with him, which led to Morgan's VA asking him on FGO's 9th anniversary via a letter 'How exactly did the stories come to him?'

2024-08-28 07:29:24 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction to Last Encore, and do hope you stick with it, after re-watching the first ep with you, despite some minor incorrect things the video from KK is probably worth a watch just for the big concept stuff they through at you like the Moon Cell and SERAPH.
