2024-08-23 20:52:49 +0000 UTCah yes the garden of sinners “epilogue”. probably the hardest Nasu has ever nasu’ed. and we finally get to meet Void Shiki. who, according to Nasu himself, is tied with Arcueid in Tsukihime for strongest character in the nasuverse (at least pre FGO). void Shiki is so op because she is directly connected to (and basically is) the root aka the spiral of origin aka the thing all mages try to reach like in Fate’s holy grail wars. the root is basically a record of everything in existence, past present and future. Because void shiki is one with the root, void shiki is all knowing and all powerful. when she talks about being able to reshape the entire universe at will, she means that literally. she even gives koktou a taste of this. she didn’t fix his eye but she did heal his leg injury and got rid of his limp just by altering reality itself. but because void shiki knows everything, and can do everything, she finds existence boring. so she created the shiki girl and SHIKI boy personalities so she wouldn’t be bothered. honestly i had to have the wiki open the first time i watched this just to figure out what the hell was going on.
