2024-04-15 16:59:38 +0000 UTCIt’s all there on the page, and there’s one more I forgot. - Kiritsugu starts off fate zero as the Mage Killer, a heretic even compared to other heretics (mages), a good man who strives to be a hero through committing evil acts. His main enemy in fate zero is his antithesis, Kirei. A catholic priest who has the sense to want to be good and do good acts but is incapable of it because of his fundamentally evil nature. There’s levels to this shit.

2024-03-23 19:37:58 +0000 UTCAnd one other thing, the reason why a lot of the characters in Fate look the same (aside from the literal saberfaces, Rinfaces, and Sakurafaces) is because most of the mainline type moon series (garden of sinners, fate stay night, tsukihime) were made by two dudes, Kinoko Nasu (writer) and Takeshi Takeuchi (artist). Though Nasu didn’t write the Fate Zero novel, that was Gen Urobochi who only does dark twisted shit, but Takeuchi still did the art.

2024-03-23 19:06:08 +0000 UTCAlright now that we’re here, let’s talk about all the way Fate Zero teases but never explicitly suggests that Kiritsugu is literally the Antichrist: - Natalia made 66 origin rounds from his ribs. Tack on another 6 at the end of 66 and what do you get - How did Jesus die on the cross? Stabbed in the ribs, at which point he died and became the savior. Sort of his “origin” story. Kiritsugu became aware of his origin when the bullets were made from his ribs. - Kiritsugu’s command seals look like a cross, or more accurately an upside down cross - Kiritsugu wants to use the holy grail to end violence and save mankind, and as he said to Saber a few eps ago, he’s willing to commit and bear “all the evils in the world” to do so
