Unexpected turn

Estella is sitting in the waiting room at the hospital. She is too late due to a lack of parking spaces. All accessible parking spots were taken even if there were enough of them. The reason she has to go to the hospital is because of bladder and kidney issues. These problems occur often with people who are paralyzed on t level. Being paralyzed from the the navel down is a weird thing. The feeling and control just stops. As she is waiting many people pass by and the appointment gets postponed. In the waiting 5 other people have taken a seat. As she doesn’t need a seat she just parked her wheelchair against the wall. It’s still winter so she is fully covered. Wearing pants and a sweater.

People are waiting and looking to magazines who seem 10 years old or looking at a flatscreen with information on it. A man walks in the room and also takes place. He sits down across Estella and he seemed to notice her. He is trying to look at her in a not too obvious way. But she notices, when their eyes meet a intens feeling overwhelms him. He tries to grab his phone so he can avoid direct contact. After a few minutes 3 other people have left the waiting room. its awfully quiet. He looks at the legs and how she sits in her wheelchair. She puts the brakes off and rolls to a water cooler, she rolls by him and he can smell her parfum. He watches her roll to the water cooler and she grabs a cup and pours water into it. He notices how she uses one arm to keep balance and the other to take the water. The two people left are also leaving the waiting room. Estella rolls back with one hand holding the cup and just 3 meters but then.. she drops the cup.

The man sees it happening and gets up to help her. She reaches for the cup on the floor and also does he. ‘ don’t worry, I will clean it up’ he says with a smile. She thanks him kindly. ‘Would you like another cup? I will bring it to you’ he says to her. ‘Yes, that’s thoughtful of you, thanks!’ She replies. She rolls back and while he cleans the floor with a tissue and gets her a new cup with water. He brings it to her and he goes sit back across her. ‘We are the last ones today I think’ she says to him. Referring to the empty waiting room. ‘Yes, it seems like it’ he replies. ‘ what time is your appointment? He asks her. ‘At 16:15’ she replies. ‘That’s in two minutes’ he says. She smiles and takes a look at the clock. ‘Yes, but they are running late today, the lady who was in the corner, said all appointments took longer so we could count on being here for at least 30 minutes longer. ‘I don’t mind, if I’m in company’ he says. Her cheeks turn red. ‘Do you mind if I ask you, what happened to you? I mean... why are you in a wheelchair?’ He asks her a little hesitating. ‘An accident 2 years ago, I’m paralyzed from the waist down’ She replies. ‘Sorry to hear that but you look very beautiful if I can be so bold’ he says. ‘Thank you’ she says.

He looks around him if nobody is passing and says ‘ I’m going to be very direct and don’t take it the wrong way’ he says. She looks at him with a light frown and wonders what he will say next. ‘I’m a photographer and would like to have you in front of my camera’ he says. ‘Oh, that’s nice, is it your profession? ‘ she asks. ‘Yes, i photograph people everyday, I’ve been doing it for 10 years now’ he replies. ‘Cool, and what type of photography? She asks him. ‘Its a bit unusual but I photograph porn actresses and actors’ he says. Estella seems to be speechless. ‘Like I said, don’t take it the wrong way, I wouldn’t ask you, to do that but just I would do a normal photoshoot with you’ he says. ‘Okey well can I see some of your work? She asks. ‘yes ofcourse, I have a website and I have photos here on my phone’ he points as his phone and gets up from the chair. He walks to steps and goes and sits in a chair next to her. ‘You don’t mind?’he says. ‘It’s Oke’ she says.

He looks at the beautiful her and can smell her parfum again. He opens a photo album on his phone and leans towards her with the display turning towards her. This was a photoshoot I did 2 days ago, this is a couple shoot. On a beach in Greece. But that’s just on request. Mostly I do this’ he says as he swipes towards some other pictures on the screen of his phone. He shows Estella a picture of a model wearing lingerie and in very sexual positions. ‘Okay, I prefer the previous ones of the couple with clothes’ she says. ‘Why? Because this is sexual? He asks. ‘To me this is not sexual at all, but maybe because I’ve been doing it for 10 years now. I just create pictures of how these pornstars want to sell themselves. It’s an unusual business I guess’ he says. ‘ well I guess so, I’m not familiar with this, so I can’t judge but why aks me?
