WCSP Week 2, November 2021 Winner: Misty/Kasumi!

Or Kasumi, depending on how much of a weeb you are. In a world where monsters can mutate and evolve from various situations and proximity to various objects, who's to say that humans can't as well? But as I wise man once said;
Women, like wine, don't evolve, but mature over time.
Still, nothing wrong with giving a helping hand to mother nature!
You'll notice I also have versions of her with black hair, for those unaware it's a nod to the old Pocket Monsters: Dengeki Pikachu manga, or as it's known in America, The Electric Tale of Pikachu. A very, and I mean very, loose adaptation of the Pokémon anime series, Misty appears with black hair. Why? I have never really figured that out, but I've always enjoyed the look. I I got the idea for this sketch from my memories of the manga, and really tried to emulate the style.
Despite being heavily censored for the American audience, I think they never really masked the overall horniness of the source material (probably cause if they did, they might as well have just drawn a whole new comic lol) Something the young impressionable me from years past picked up on, just learning of the charms of girls. Also when they released the first chapter in comic book form, I distinctly remember the comic was completely unedited (outside of being mirrored, but that was common practice for manga back then), with Gary's sister's perky boobs ready to poke someone's eyes out. hehehe I should see if I can find that comic I have stashed away somewhere someday...
Anyways, that's probably enough of a history lesson for something no one asked for...

True. It's mostly just a pretty-as-heck art style, and you did a great job recreating it.

2021-11-21 00:49:03 +0000 UTCThat's certainly possible. I do know in the later chapters the artist does go lighter with her hair. Plus there's also the colored illustrations for the volume covers and they have her red hair there, but I'm not sure if those were drawn at the time, or at a later date to try and tie in more with the anime? idk, still weird, but also still think she looks good this way.

2021-11-19 04:46:52 +0000 UTCPersonally I don't think the colored-in hair in the Pikachu was meant to imply Misty was a brunette, I think it was more of a "Well we've only got two colors, so we have to pick one" kind of deal, and they just figured coloring it dark would look better? I dunno
