Person Of Interest S01E22: No Good Deed (Full Reaction)

Thank you so much for another reaction to Person of Interest! I love this episode and it greatly expands the world building. We know more about Finch and we're seeing more of the government side that knows about the Machine and what lengths they will go to keep it a secret. Looking forward to the finale of the season soon!

No Good Deed- Another fantastic episode, and I really like this episode's "person of interest"... Henry Peck. I am fascinated by his character, and was so scared that he would wind up getting himself killed. And it would have been very sad if he had died. Thankfully... it appears that maybe Finch is able to talk him into running away to the new life Finch has set up for him. I just feel really bad for him. This show is setting up for all that's to come and it's really good. Unfortunately... Alicia Corwin is now on to Finch upon spying on Henry Peck once he started digging for information about the Machine. And she seems to be quite scared of someone, or perhaps the few others who also know about the Machine. Finch never should have revealed to Henry that he is the one who built the Machine. The question is... what will come of this newfound information Alicia's discovered about Finch? I love that we continue to find out more about Finch's past with Nathan and them building the Machine together, including seeing that Nathan grows worried about the people they are handing the Machine over to. It's very sad to know that Nathan is now dead, and that his death was most likely caused because of his work with the Machine. However, I think it was very smart for Nathan to have asked Finch about installing a contingency plan. Little did Finch know at the time that Nathan had already been smart enough to do so himself behind Finch's back, upon anticipating Finch's answer that we see and hear during this flashback. This is why we see the next scene with Nathan sitting down at the computer in the next flashback, that shows he had installed the contingency plan. The very back door Finch now uses in the present to access their numbers and to communicate with the Machine. And because Finch had said that there would be no access for them once they turn off the Machine so they can hand it over to the others who have access to the relevant numbers given to them from the Machine... we know that Nathan had already done so before he asks Finch if they should. I think he was shown simply checking on the Machine to make sure that his contingency plan actually still worked once Finch turned off the Machine. Thank goodness Nathan was wise to do so, otherwise... Reese and Finch wouldn't be where they are today, and we wouldn't have this phenomenal show you are loving so much just like I do! :) I really like Nathan's character a lot as well. He's very intriguing, and I admire his drive to want to help people upon feeling such a burden knowing that there is a list of good and innocent people in danger being erased every night due to how Finch had initially programmed the Machine. People Nathan becomes determined to help on his own because he can't deal with the guilt of their deaths he comes to feel are on him for failing to act. I also love that we find out more about Finch's past with Grace, who turns out to have been Finch's fiancée before he disappeared and faked his death for her protection. I too love seeing how brave Finch is to be able to walk away from the woman he loves, knowing that simply by being associated with her would eventually come to cost him her life. And I love Finch for this. His life is very sad, but I love that he tells Reese in end that he is so grateful to have been able to have four happy years with her. And sadly... Finch then adds that some people sadly only have four days with their loved ones, which alludes us to the understanding that Reese's time with Jessica was very, very short lived. So sad. Interesting fact... the actress who plays Grace... Carrie Preston, is Michael Emerson's (Finch) wife in real life. I absolutely love it when I learn that two actors who are married in real life, get to play characters together in the same show or movie, especially when their characters are married, engaged, in love, etc... And Finch and Grace are so cute together. Carrie Preston is a fantastic actress as well. I look forward to seeing you get to know Grace more. I love the ending scene between Reese and Grace too, as we get to know her a little and we come to see how much she loved Finch and he loves her in return. And I love that through meeting Grace, Reese is able to gain a deeper trust, appreciation, and respect for Finch, as Finch is slowly coming to gain more for Reese as well. They're friendship and trust is most definitely important and essential for all that's to come. And they've got a Hell of a ride ahead! Overall... I really am loving these last few episodes, and they're definitely among my favorites of the season. Thank you so much, Reds! I can't wait for more Person of Interest from you, so until next time... Sincerely, Heidi
