Crazy, Stupid, Love (Movie Reaction)

Comments

Thank you so much for your reaction to Crazy, Stupid, Love, Reds! I am really happy you enjoyed it. I love this movie. It's really funny, in an awkward and creative way. I've never really been a fan of Steve Carrell as an actor before I first saw this movie, and I still don't care all that much for too many of his movies, but I think this is easily his best movie by far. He's just so funny, in a very awkward kind of way. I love his dry humor throughout this movie. Also... I especially love Ryan Gosling and his character throughout this movie as well. Ryan Gosling is such a great actor, and I love Jacob's character, especially once we see him open up and become the sweet, non womanizing man he really is underneath the kind of man he had been... I suspect because of his mother and the way she was towards his father. I love the scenes between Jacob and Hannah when they're just talking about anything and everything, especially when he opens up to her about himself and talks about his parents. He grows up to be superficial and shallow much like his mother had been, but thanks to Hannah showing him it's okay to be vulnerable, gentle, and just himself, Jacob grows to become more like his father, and from his talk about his parents with Hannah, you can see that he truly loved his father and really always wanted to be just like him. WHich I do believe is the reason why Jacob wanted to help Cal and so easily became his friend. And it's just so sweet. Now... I would never fall for a womanizer like Jacob was, but I still think that even the womanizing side of his character is very funny. And I really love his relationship with Hannah. They make an adorable couple. And I really love the friendship that develops between Jacob and Cal too. They both help one another become better versions of themselves in spite of all of the missteps that occur throughout this movie. I love the scenes when Jacob helps Cal to open up more as he acts as a Miyagi for him. I am especially happy when Jacob stands up to David and Cal's former friend at the party by pulling the friend off of Cal and then punching David upon meeting the man that hurt him so badly. And I really, really love that Cal finally gives Jacob his okay to continue to be with his daughter so long as he treats her right. And I do believe he will. The fight and chaos that erupts in the end at the party is all really hilarious and so much fun, until of course the sadness comes out. So many misunderstandings, but it was all absolutely necessary for all of them to finally move on and move past everything. I don't really like the love storyline between Cal's son and Jessica at all, and I especially hate that Jessica has creepy feelings for Cal, because this is just so wrong. However, all of this does create some fun scenes and moments between these characters too. Most of all, I like the lessons that come from Cal standing up for his son at his graduation to try to show him how wrong he's been about how he's handled everything. That love is real and important. So beautiful. And lastly... I come from parents who are also divorced, and their divorce was nasty. Divorce is definitely nothing like we see in this movie, and it is hard. So hard, for everyone involved. Especially the children. But nonetheless, it's important that we don't forget that love does exist and that it's important to try to find it again. Overall... this is just a really fun movie with some really great characters. Especially Jacob, Cal, and Hannah, as well as Hannah's best friend. So, thank you once again for watching and reacting to Crazy, Stupid, Love for me, Reds! I am looking forward to next month for your next movie reaction. And I am also very excited for more Once Upon a Time, Lucifer, and Person of Interest too!!! Thank you!!! Sincerely, Heidi
