Calix and Datu Azim became alert when they heard the voice. The voice was deep, perhaps affected by the cave's echoes. The voice alone made them alert to their surroundings. 

Another fact was that the Illusory Flame was dancing in the center of the cave. The Flame was waving crazily and the screams of the souls turned frantic, as if they found something interesting. 

Datu Azim started sweating. She experienced a lot of things but this situation was different. She felt like endless screams of souls were penetrating her head. She was going crazy. 

She turned to Calix and realized that the guy was staring straight at the Flame. His eyes changed color, into gold. As if he was entranced by the Flame's crazy rumblings. 

However, his focus was disturbed when the voice struck them again. 

"Who's there?"

Calix immediately pulled out his gun and pointed in the opposite direction of where they came from. 

"Huh? Some people actually entered this place? I don't know if you're crazy or just curious."

"Guh--!"

"Aacckk--!" 

Both Calix and Datu Azim felt a painful sensation. They kneeled down as they felt a heavy force pushing them down. 

The force was not gravity, it was different. It was as if a heavy boulder was on top of them and slowly crushing them. 

The two were wearing battlesuits but they were not enough to protect them from this pressure. 

The silhouette of the person slowly became clear. It was a tall woman. She had green hair and dark green eyes. 

It was Ivy Naomi Higashikita. Using her Telekinesis, she put tons of invisible weight on top of Calix and Datu Azim, causing the situation. 

Calix realized that they might have made a mistake. It seemed that this cave was important. The fact that Ivy was here meant something. 

Calix recalled that Datu Azim's ancestor met this certain Illusory Flame. However, he didn't know the specifics. From the looks of it, Ivy Naomi was also interested in it. 

"Why are you here?"

"..." 

Calix wanted to answer but the pressure caused him to stay on the ground. Even breathing was hard. 

He glanced at Datu Azim and realized that the woman was close to passing out. 

Having no choice, Calix decided to use his trump card. Whenever he faced a deadly situation, his Fate Reversal Term Attribute always saved him. 

Ocean blue aura covered him and his pupils turned gold. 

"Hm? Oho, kid, you are quite interesting."

Suddenly, the pressure that Ivy Naomi unleashed disappeared into nothing. 

"You're Term Attribute seems interesting." She said with a cold face. She met some Vindicators who had unique Term Attributes so she was not that surprised. 

She casually raised her hand to cast her spell. 

"Miss Ivy. Please listen to me before you kill me! I'm not here to fight or hurt you! I'm Calix Romoel, I was sent by Dellia to make a deal with you."

"Kid, you're not the only one who tried to contact me. Ancas and Desmonda also contacted me to work with them. They promised me that they would help me build a kingdom here in the Western Continent. Their proposals are not that bad."

"Then..."

"I killed all of them who contacted me. Do you know why? Because I don't need help in building a kingdom, I can do that easily. I just don't want to. Money is also not the problem. In the first place, the one who was eager to work with you guys was Earthshaker Barathros, who was already dead."

"But we need your presence to make this deal come true."

"Too bad, I don't give a fuck."

The cave turned silent. Calix realized that the mission failed and he had to do something to survive. 

He glanced at Datu Azim who lost consciousness. He gritted his teeth and decided to fight Ivy Naomi instead. He knew that there was no other way except for this.

Suddenly, the Illusory Flame growled like a beast and expanded. A huge hand appeared from the Flame and swept away the screaming souls. 

The hand reached out for Calix. Both Calix and Ivy Naomi were shocked by this situation. 

They realized that the huge hand was from a powerful being. A being stronger than a Demigod! A God!

Calix and Ivy Naomi turned their attention to the huge hand trying to escape the Illusory Flame. Calix shot the hand while Ivy Naomi used her Telekinesis to crush it. 

The exchange only lasted a second but it felt too long for them. 

"Graaaaggghhhh---!"

In the end, the hand slowly vanished as if it were nothing but an illusion. 

"... That power is certainly from a God. However, it's nothing but the remaining of its power. The being is already dead and can't use his full power."

Ivy easily deduced. If the enemy was a real God, then all of them should be dead in a matter of seconds. 

'After all, the Gods are all dead.'

Ivy Naomi's dream was to reach Godhood. She would do anything to reach it. However, she knew that dream would take at least a thousand years to happen. 

If making a kingdom could help her achieve that dream, then she would build a kingdom. However, she knew that building was kingdom was a useless endeavor. It would only split her attention. 

She turned to Calix who was sweating a lot. It seemed that using his power cost a lot of energy. 

"You... What's your name?"

After what she witnessed, she knew that this guy was not simple. 

In the first place, the huge hand showed up because Calix used his Fate Reversal. The huge hand was reaching for Calix, eager to kidnap him. 

That hand was from a dead God. 

'Meaning, the God is interested in him...'

"Gahaack--! I'm Calix Romoel. I already said it earlier." He was coughing. 

"Calix, huh? Consider yourself lucky, I will not kill you... At least not now."

For the first time, Ivy Naomi showed an expression. It was a slight smirk.
