Studio company to choose?

Poll about the Big Six(Seven) that might acquire a portion of Grey Pictures. I have no deep knowledge regarding shares and public companies so if I missed something important, I'll be happy if someone corrects me.

1.) Warner Brothers.

My opinion: I have no problem with this company, actually. I put this company in high regard. This company can rival Disney and I believe that it beats Disney in terms of quality. This is my first because I like Warner Brothers.

Possible route:

-- Kazir will direct The Dark Knight Trilogy.

-- Kazir will direct DCEU and fix all of the bullshit. (Note that I'm not that deep in DC and I never read any comics. I'm more of a manga/manhwa guy.)

-- If Grey Pictures was acquired by Warner Brothers, then Kazir might have to sell the Marvel superheroes he acquired back to Marvel Comics, twice or thrice the original price.

2.) Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM)

My opinion: Erm, I only know the Bond films about MGM. This company is suffering from huge debt and I believe it became bankrupt twice. MGM was part of the Big Five back in 1930-1960 (MGM, Paramount Pictures, RKO, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Bros.) MGM lost its international distribution in the 2010s.

Possible route:

-- Kazir will include Bond films in CCU. Although the actor will be Daniel Craig starring in Casino Royale. I love Casino Royale, by the way. The movie where the first time I saw Bond deeply affected by the death of a Bond girl. I believe Bond really loves that girl.

-- Except for Bond films, MGM has Rocky and G.I. Joe. I have no idea what to do with that. The first movie of G.I. Joe is amazing as for the sequels, meh. Like, they just killed Channing Tatum. Wtf.

-- MGM is suffering from a huge debt so it will be hard for them to buy Grey Pictures. However, they can swap shares. With that, Grey Pictures might shoulder the debt of MGM.

3.) Paramount Pictures.

My Opinion: I have no problem with this company. They are cool. Paramount is owned by Viacom so Viacom might be the one to buy Grey Pictures and possibly merge it with Paramount. Depends on Kazir if he wants to sell the company whole though. Paramount distributed Mission: Impossible, Transformers, and Top Gun.

Possible route:

-- Kazir might work with Top Gun: Maverick. Although that will take at least two decades unless I did some dabbling with the plot, hehe.

-- Transformers is a huge franchise. The latter sequels were a bit downing but this franchise has a huge profit because of toys and other merchandise. Kazir might work with this.

-- Of course, Mission Impossible is another huge franchise. If Kazir became part of Paramount, I would definitely let him do Mission Impossible.

4.) Sony-Columbia

My opinion: Kazir currently has a collaboration with Sony-Columbia and it seems they have good chemistry. Sony-Columbia released Spider-Man and they internationally distributed the Terminator franchise. Jumanji is one of their big movies as well.

Possible Route:

-- Kazir will be deeply in touch with the Spider-Man franchise. The three versions. Possibly fix The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield. Gwen Stacy didn't deserve to die in that movie.

-- Venom. Of course, this symbiote creature needs his own movie.

-- Terminator and Jumanji.

5.) 20th Century Fox

My opinion: Just like Warner Bros, I put this studio in high regard. I like a lot of their movies. I watched Avatar when I was young and I like it. They also have their own animation studio, the best animation they have is Ice Age, I liked that franchise when I was young. Of course, the X-Men franchise.

Possible route:

-- I'm very interested in Deadpool so Kazir will definitely direct this franchise if he allied with Fox.

-- Perhaps steal some movies from Pixar since Fox has their own animation studio.

-- Probably fix the rebooted version of X-Men.

6.) Universal Pictures

My opinion: Aside from Disney, this studio had a bad relationship with Kazir. Honestly, as an author, I have no problem with Universal. You know, I just gotta make some antagonists to spice up the plot. Universal is famous for the Jurassic Park franchise and Minions/Despicable Me. Oh, Universal Pictures actually owned the Fast and Furious franchise, but this is fanfic so not in the HWI universe.

Possible route:

-- Kazir might work with the Jurassic Park franchise.

-- Since this company has an animation studio as well, might as well steal some movies from Disney. Yes, I hate Disney, their movies lately are ass.

-- Insidious is a horror movie but the franchise is quite profitable so Kazir might work with it.

7.) Walt Disney

My opinion: Aight, Disney is a giant media company. Their business is very huge. They acquired Marvel and LucasFilm. I hate to say it but they are the biggest media corporation in the world. They even acquired 20th Century Fox, one of the Big Six. I still don't like them though.

Possible route:

-- Kazir will work with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. (Of course, Kazir can also steal this franchise and work with another studio, hehe. Disney fired Johnny Depp without listening to his story anyways.)

-- Most of Disney movies were fairytale-related or animation + Pixar's. I have no idea what to do with that.

-- I just realized that Narnia was actually produced by Walt Disney. I'm still skeptical about why this franchise slowly disappear. The first movie was amazing.

+++++

[Author's Note: Kazir's career is full of stealing movies and scripts... So some of these movies might be directed by him even if he didn't work with the said studio. Anyway, I just realized that it's time for Kazir to get his Best Director award at Oscars. What do you think is the best movie for him to win an award?]

[I'm gonna attend a Christmas Party. But I'll try to write a chapter, aight.]

If he was smart he’d do something like sell a max of 30% total of grey pictures and split it between the studios that he knows are most beneficial to him; thus he can get 2 or 3 of the big 3 on his side…and his pitch to the studios is that he wants to eventually bring Disney to its knees, which would make all of the share holders of all the companies align their interests to put Disney in a corner and smother that studio

Matt

Would be interesting if he split the shares, sell 15% to Sony and 15% to Fox…that way it puts 1/3 of the big 6 in his corner and lets him maintain his control over the rights he’s purchased

Matt

I would love if Kazir made a wolverine origins that was just the opening

I'm thinking the best choice is still MGM. The debt doesn't really matter. The reason for the debt stacking up, is their lack of a solid profitable core. With Kazir having a seat on their board, and helping they will become profitable, and with Bankruptcy protection, reset their debts to a manageable level. From Kazirs side, he gets the most profit from this. As he gets the distribution channels he needs, while getting control of Bond, and while retaining control of Grey Pictures. They would be the most hands off of the studios. None of the others, really seem worth it to me. Though he could probably get a couple billion dollars for 20% of his company. Another factor to consider, is that no studio is going to want to buy more then 50%. Grey is valuable because of Kazir. And if they buy him out, he can just walk away and start a new studio.

I don’t think Kazir should sell out his majority shares to any company at all. At most he should sell 30%, enough to smooth tensions but not enough to give the studios any real say in his actions. Idc who he sells to tbh, the only rights any of those studios have over deadpool or x-men could be taken away by mc’s purchasing of Marvel earlier than they acquired them irl. Only the inclusion of Bond into the CCU has any really merit imo, and Kazir could sell 15% to them in exchange for the rights to do so and another 15% to Sony for Spider-Man stuff as it wouldn’t be good to cut ties with Sony so blatantly like that.

Dave

One movie per year is the best he can do so some of the movies might not be directed by him. However, I'm very interested in Pirates of the Caribbean, Deadpool and Dark Knight Trilogy. Unfortunately, it seems that only Pirates can be acquired since Deadpool and Batman are owned by Fox and Warner. They are comic characters.

Honestly? I feel that the 2 who tried to frame him early on are out simply because he'll risk their subtle interference or just entering a hostile work environment. Some in the company may hold a grudge also. And now that he's worked with this woman hater for this project he'll be extra conscious about getting in bed with a future headache. He strikes me as a guy who learns from his mistakes. Also, even if you've not mentioned it in the fic as far as I remember. It would be in character for him to poach the scripts of his rivals ahead of time simply to screw with them if they're not written yet. So whichever popular movies of those companies that weren't written yet he could just own the IP of. And that's a lot of animated movies with Disney involved. Future bargaining chip now and it would show some foresight if he acquired these ahead of time to get out of a bind with Disney or animated studios in particular. Him stacking the deck with all their moneymaker ahead of time would be such a powermove. Maybe he'll have scripts that most of the others will want that can help in the negotiations? Bargain with all of them for bigger shares and trading of IPs. He'll not want to direct most of them anyway right?

David Karlsson

The poll will last a month since I have no idea how long this acquisition might last. Perhaps it will take two years. Because acquiring a company is not that simple. It needs thorough research regarding the net worth, possible debts, and number of workers.
