Hollywood What If Chapter 235

[This summer, three legends will put an end to the powerful organization.]

The trailer started and the people in the pub watched it curiously. Most people in the pub were men and of course they watched at least one of the Continental Cinematic movies. 

They saw Liam Neeson, Viggo Mortensen, and Matt Damon in their iconic roles. They carried guns in cool ways, reloading bullets in cool ways, and killing people in cool ways. 

The suspense of the music and scenes that the trailer brought captivated the men in the pub. 

How could they not, even the trailer was a masterpiece alone. It hyped the people. However, in two decades, this kind of trailer would be generic and every action movie used it.

-- A low and slow build-up of music. 

-- Attractive statement from the protagonist that made no sense. 

-- Over-establishing shot. 

-- Heist shots, lots of them. Scenes that had explosions and gunfights. Cool scenes that only last 0.2 seconds each. 

-- Rising music. 

-- Another line that seemed cool. 

-- Villain close-up shot. 

-- Wide shot, massive destruction with SFX boost. 

-- Reveal cover song. 

-- Location change, somewhere beautiful, blah blah. 

-- Hyping the strength of the villain/organization. The side characters tell how dangerous the mission would be. 

-- Blah blah blah. 

-- An action stunt that almost defied physics. 

-- Shots of the protagonist running.

-- A scene in it seemed that the protagonist was going to die.

-- Then the Title Drop, the cover song blended perfectly. 

-- Then the release date of the movie. 

Honestly, Kazir Grey used every element he could use to hype the movie. This time, he used Bryan Mills, John Wick, and Jason Bourne as the hook to bait the audience. 

These three characters already had massive fans so they easily attracted attention. 

"I'm gonna fucking watch this movie! It sure will be awesome!"

A man with a thick beard announced and raised his beer in excitement. Even though the movie didn't have strong relevance in his daily life, he was still excited to watch it. He was a bit groggy, probably because he already drunk a lot. 

"Heck yeah! I'm going to ask my son to watch it, we never had father and son bonding lately! I'm sure he will be happy!"

Another man agreed. 

The men nodded and decided that they had to watch this movie. They didn't expect that something as ambitious as putting three superstars in one movie would happen! This was a piece of cinema history! 

Wallace chuckled while listening to their banters.

'They didn't know that I'm actually the Vice president of Grey Fans. A group of fans who support Kazir Grey, the director of Wanted.'

Wallace already graduated from college and he was now an office worker. Being an adult was not that simple, it was actually worse. Wallace sometimes dreamed of being a kid again. Away from responsibility, bills, and serious human relationships. 

When he was a kid, all he had to think about was how to defeat the Elite 6 in Pokemon. 

Watching movies was his way of escaping reality and his favorite movies were produced by Kazir Grey. 

The Grey Fans already rented a cinema in Los Angeles. They would watch the movie in a suit in accordance with John Wick's aesthetic. 

Wallace was very excited about the movie. He believed that this movie would be the culmination of the past four movies that Grey Pictures produced. 

He drank his alcohol, hoping that the days would quickly pass so that he could watch the movie.

"This might be good or bad for us." 

Michael Eisner narrowed his gaze as he stared at the television that currently airing the trailer of Wanted. 

As the chairman of one of the biggest film companies in the world, Michael Eisner sensed the looming doom or blessing of this endeavor. 

If Wanted was a massive success, then it could open another method for film companies to make money. If Grey Pictures could make one, then they could make one too. 

However, Michael Eisner knew that making a Cinematic Universe was not that easy. He knew the danger. Suddenly, an idea entered his mind. 

'... Should I acquire Grey Pictures? Based on their past achievements, their net worth will be around 1.5 billion. The sequels of their movies are promising, giving the company a better future.'

This amount was nothing for Disney. They could buy it... Although it all depends on Kazir's intention. He was the sole owner of Grey Pictures. 

'If Grey Pictures didn't agree or if the company was acquired by one of our rivals, then Walt Disney has to make its own Cinematic Universe.'

The old man touched his chin. The opinions of the shareholders on him were getting bad, influenced by the Disney and Weinstein families. 

Michael Eisner had to accomplish something so that his position wouldn't be endangered. In his opinion, this Cinematic Universe was the answer. 

"Um, Sir, President Ovitz is here."

"Let him in."

Michael Ovitz entered the office and told his friend that Disney successfully bought the copyright of an old novel. 

"Good. [A Princess Of Mars] seems promising."

Lately, a rumor was circulating that Warner Bros was starting a project based on a novel. It was about a young wizard named Harry Potter. 

Disney didn't want to be left out so they decided to acquire some old novels that had good profitability once turned into movies. 

A Princess Of Mars was the first book of the Barsoom series. The Barsoom series had 11 books, expanding the universe of the series. It was about a guy named John Carter who was transported to Mars and met a Martin Princess. 

"Ovitz, I have an idea... What about we make this series into movies with different protagonists? Just like the Continental Cinematic Universe."

"You mean...?" 

Michael Ovitz quickly got the point. 

"That's right. We will name the first movie as John Carter."

Michael Ovitz smiled, believing in his capability as the chairman of Walt Disney.

[Author's Note: Yeah, this chapter is about hyping the premiere. It might take one or two chapters before the premiere happened. I have another scene that I wanted to add before the premiere. Anyway, someone mentioned the idea of other film companies starting their own Cinematic Universe so I decided to cook a little bit. Shout out to David Karlsson.]
