"This is..."
Berto Alb frowned while reading one of the ancient books in his office.
He decided to accept the position and became the Principal of Horvart University. Because of this, his family successfully escaped the drafting. His son, Quandale Dingle, was saved from being a spare life in the war.
Berto was thankful to Lobo Lycan for what he did. The ex-principal was like a teacher and second father to him.
'Although he has his reasons why he wanted me to be his apprentice, it's true that Lobo Lycan helped me.'
Back when Berto was suffering from his Backlash, he was thin and always depressed. There was a point in his life that he wanted to kill himself.
However, he knew that his parents and sister would be devastated if he ended his life.
Perhaps because of suffering, Berto Alb decided to pray to the church, hoping for salvation. He became an avid follower of the Church Of Love, becoming blind to its beliefs.
One day, while cleaning the church, Berto decided to open the old scripture of the church. In the Church Of Love, only the priests were allowed to read the scripture.
Berto didn't have a chance to read a scripture in his entire life. After all, the strongest religion in the Eastern continent was the Church Of Love. Especially in Junian, where their main church resides.
The moment he opened the scripture and read the first sentence, he felt his suffering and pain subsiding. At first he thought it was just an illusion, but he realized that his power was materializing.
He was clueless about the word 'Hell' but it didn't bother him. As long as he was normal and didn't suffer from his Backlash, he would accept this so-called Hell that he could summon.
Since then, his faith in the Church Of Love has become stronger. He was an avid follower, to the point that he didn't leave the church and served the church with all of his heart... Erm, he stole one of the scriptures in the church as well.
When reading the scripture, he learned that there was a special place on the planet called Hell. It said that Hell was a pit where eternal flame constantly punished the sinners. Its flame was so hot that it could turn a living being into ashes.
This was the first time he knew about Hell.
Berto Alb was confused as to why the church didn't preach about this thing. Perhaps this so-called Hell was actually not real, an imaginary place.
Even though the church didn't preach all of the context of the scripture, it didn't stop him from trusting the religion.
However, everything stopped when he witnessed how the priests loved 'everything'.
It was terrifying... he didn't know what to say. He felt like everyone around him was insane.
In the Church Of Love, everyone has respect for each other's love.
But the head priest's love was a crime... He loves gouging people's eyes and putting them into transparent jars.
Once a month, the head priest would form a gathering and call every true believer of the Church Of Love to present their 'Love'.
Berto witnessed one of the believers moaning in pleasure as the priest gouged his eyes using his hands.
Berto shuddered. The fact that this thing was allowed made him shudder. He was lost. Learning that the religion that saved him was filled with crazy people.
Thankfully, Berto met ex-Principal Lycan and offered him to work for the university.
Because ex-Principal Lycan controlled the Ancient Library, Berto could read some of the old books from the Ancient Library.
Berto Alb realized that as long as the book was categorized as a scripture, he could use it as fuel.
Apparently, thousands of years ago, many religions flourished on the planet.
The scripture that he loves to read the most is the scripture of Bravery. This scripture states the bravery and heroic deeds that a Vampire King did in his life. It was an epic book.
There was actually a religion about a Vampire King. As for the authenticity of this scripture, Berto Alb didn't care. As long as it could save him from his Backlash, Berto Alb would keep reading it.
Now that Berto was the Principal of Horvart University, he was allowed to read the important books in the Ancient Library.
His curiosity about the Vampire King made him choose a book related to Vampires. He didn't expect that he would find another book that was about the Vampire King.
To be precise, the book was actually written by the Vampire King!
"This is..."
Which returned to the present, where Berto Alb read the ancient book.
"Godhood is an experiment. No one knows how to become a God. Every being who wanted to shed their humanity used different methods to become a Divine Being..."
The book was actually about Godhood! Apotheosis!
The Vampire King actually knew about the ways to become God!
Erm, not exactly, but he cracked the code.
Berto Alb frowned and turned to the next page. The book was handwritten and each page only had a few words in it.
"DemiGods didn't know how to become a God because there is no concrete way to become one. Each one of them has to find their own Apotheosis."
Just like how the TA Users try to decipher their Term Attributes.
"Everyone is unique."
Even though the book only had a few words in it, Berto felt like he learned so many things. He touched his chin... he deduced that this Vampire King might be a Divine Being as well, a full-fledged God. Someone who found his path and became a God.
"Unfortunately, I'm still a 3rd TA User. It might take me a decade or two to become a DemiGod."
Besides, even if he became a DemiGod, it would be very hard for him to become a Divine Being. After all, no one in this era became a God.
'There are hundreds of DemiGods on the planet and no one is still a God. This means that it's very hard to become one.'
He knew that some DemiGods could be categorized as half-step Gods but these people were still DemiGods in essence.
With such curiosity, Berto Alb decided to read the last page and his face turned dark.
