Kazir entered the theater after walking on the red carpet. He took a deep breath. He realized that people started screaming when they saw him. Particularly women, they were screaming his name with fever. As they met their first love.
On top of that, the female reporter who interviewed him was showing flirty gazes, a clean signal. The female reporter this time was not Abella Boham who interviewed him last time. Perhaps that was the reason.
"I'm kinda man that you shaved your beard."
"Hm?"
Kazir looked at his side and saw Cameron Diaz pouting.
"I just feel like shaving it."
"I know... But because of that, other bitches are getting crazy over you. I didn't like the looks that the female reporter gave to you." She whispered the latter sentence. Feeling indignant.
"Cam, did you say something?"
"Nothing." She rolled her eyes and hugged his arm.
Since they were in a relationship, they had to show the people that they were close.
Of course, Kazir wanted to watch the movie because it was made from his script. He was interested in the result. Especially when there was a massive change in the cast.
Despite their initial plan, Paramount decided to cast Brianna Evans as the female lead of the movie. Salvatore was very happy that he even invited Kazir to drink an expensive wine.
With Kazir as the scriptwriter, Salvatore Barlowe was confident that the movie would be successful. This means that after the release of Meet The Parents, Brianna's salary would increase! Definitely a piece of good news for Salvatore.
Kazir was greeted by important people from Paramount.
"I can't believe that you're actually young!"
Brad Grey laughed and shook his hand. He was surprised to see that Kazir shaved his beard. Furthermore, he looks good! He can be a model or an actor with his looks.
"Brad, I'm 29 years old. Of course I'm young."
"Haha, I thought you're in your 40s. I'm sorry, you're appearance looks mature when you have a beard."
He nodded and left the couple. He had more people to greet in this premier. Even the higher-ups from Viacom attended and Brad Grey had to suck up with them.
Perhaps the reason why the higher-ups from Viacom were here was because they believed that the profitability of this movie would be impressive. Well, no one could tell.
Anyway, Kazir saw Brianna Evans and talked to her for a few minutes. The woman was different compared to the first he met her. The woman was lively and bubbly. As if she was a different person.
Kazir admitted that Brianna was a talented actress but he felt like the way she did things was dangerous.
'... Should I talk to Salvatore to hire a psychiatrist?'
He joked. He didn't feel anything bad about the woman anyway.
Once the movie critics and the other audience sat down, the movie started.
Meet The Parents is a comedy in which a man named Greg Focker(Ben Stiller) plans to propose to his girlfriend Pam Byrnes(Brianna Evans). However, things go hilariously wrong when he meets her overprotective and intimidating father, Jack Byrnes(Robert De Niro).
Greg's attempts to impress Jack and gain his approval result in a series of hilarious and awkward situations, leading to misunderstandings and mishaps that put their relationship to the test.
Paramount did the right thing and hired Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. They were the original cast of the movie, making it authentic in Kazir's eyes.
As for how much they paid to cast the two, Kazir Grey has no idea.
'The budget of Meet The Parents is $55 million. So I guess they didn't over the top. Still, $55 million is already a mid-high movie budget.'
Still, its investment was nothing compared to James Cameron's Titanic which cost more than $200 million! Using that as a comparison, Meet The Parents was very mild.
After laughing and seeing a happy ending, the audience was satisfied with the movie and clapped their hands when the end credits rolled.
The cast and director of the movie need to stay to get interviewed for publicity later on.
This was a standard procedure for movies and the contract that the cast signed included this. Paramount put importance on this movie so they would do their best to promote it.
Kazir didn't bother staying and left the theater after. He spent his night together with Cameron.
.........
......
...
Three days after the premiere of Meet The Parents, the box office of the movie was already $28. 62 million.
With that as a basis, they concluded that the performance of Meet The Parents won't be bad. No, it would be a great run.
Unfortunately, the movie didn't win the box office champion that week because of The Sixth Sense.
Despite being released last week, the movie grossed more than $38 million. Still, the result was within their expectations and everyone believed that in the long run, Meet The Parents would generate a good amount of cash for Paramount.
To make it better, the second week of Meet The Parents had a good result as well. The overall box office became $58. 82 million. With this, Meet The Parents already surpassed the budget of $55 million.
If not because of The Sixth Sense which grossed more than $107 million, the presence of Meet The Parents would be greater.
Perhaps Meet The Parents was overshadowed by The Sixth Sense.
Kazir already expected this outcome because The Sixth Sense was 2nd highest-grossing movie of 1999, only second to Star Wars: Episode 1-- The Phantom Menace.
Yet the result of Meet The Parents was already enough for the film companies to believe that Kazir Grey had outstanding creativity and his scripts could generate hundreds of millions!
