"Mama, when will I see Papa again?"

A small kitten rubbed his face against a woman's neck. Right now, the cat and the woman were running from the pursuers. 

She had lost basically everything. Her status, her fame, and even her wealth. However, Shoujo Ramune already prepared herself for this outcome.

From the moment she accepted the job being a spy, she knew that her life would never be easy. 

After the incident of the Cannon firing shots at other countries and killing millions of people, the government of Junian announced that Shoujo Ramune was the one responsible. 

Since then, Shoujo was running away from the country. She didn't have a proper rest these past few days. 

Her pursuers were strong, they consist of 2nd and 3rd Advanced TA Users. For someone like Shoujo Ramune, who only has one TA, she was at a disadvantage. 

Even flying was dangerous for her. Mera could use his wings to fly but there was a troublesome person who could subdue them in the air. 

Thankfully, Shoujo survived the chase. She almost died so many times but she always survived. She felt like an invisible string of fate was trying to protect her. 

But right now, she felt like this power was getting weaker. She knew that at any moment, she would be caught by the pursuers. 

She was only one kilometer away from the border. People were waiting for her to take her to Dellia. 

Yet Shoujo felt like she won't reach it. She would die before she could get there. 

She was gasping for air. She was running non-stop. Even for a Beastkin like her who had a strong physique, she could not last for long. 

"Mama! Behind you!"

Suddenly, a tornado rushed towards their location. The tornado was ten feet tall yet the power it produce could shred their skins. 

Shoujo stopped in her tracks. She threw Mera into the sky. 

"Mera, escape!"

"I can't! I can't leave you, Mama. You gave me a bluefin tuna. You're a good person!"

The little cat cried out. 

The tornado moved forward so fast. Shoujo didn't have the time to dodge. She could only activate her Term Attribute. 

The tornado passed her and Shoujo was left unscathed. However, the woman started coughing blood. 

Using Term Attribute for a long time constantly was dangerous. Grasses were around her and she could use her refuel without a problem. But Shoujo overused her power and now she was suffering because of it. 

"Cagh--!"

She was getting weak. Her vision blurred. 

She saw four people showing up. She recognized one of them. 

"I'm surprised that the famous Shoujo Ramune is actually a spy."

"... Methecula."

Methecula Rosanic. Also known as the master of the sky. 

"Tsk tsk. What a pity, I didn't have a taste of you. Our order is to take you back and torture you to gain information... Now that I think about it, maybe we can do a quickie."

The man smiled. The three other Vindicators behind him didn't change their expressions. As if they were used to Methecula's hobbies. 

"Ptui--! Over my dead body!"

Shoujo roared and prepared for a battle. She didn't regret that she betrayed Junian. 

Junian was rooting from the roots. The fact they were hiding the demihumans' dungeon was disgusting. 

Shoujo didn't regret that she freed her brethren. Even if she had to die, she would do it again. 

She smiled. While running away, she received news that Demihumans we appearing all over the country. 

Even if Junian tried to hide the truth, the citizens already got an idea of their atrocities. 

"Stay still, I'm not in the mood to be a gentleman."

"Guh--!"

Methecula Rosanic extended his hand and a strong gust of wind struck Shoujo. 

She failed to activate her Term Attribute because she already reached her limit. 

Her shoulder was wounded by that attack. 

"... Methecula, you're an ugly bastard."

"What did you say?"

Methecula narrowed his eyes. 

"Do you think I didn't know that you had plastic surgery to adjust your ugly nose? Oh, I knew that you had a double chin too, you fucking ugly man!"

"... I changed my mind. You deserve to lose at least one arm!"

Methecula roared and cast another sharp gust of wind. 

"No!"

"Agh!"

Methecula was scratched by a small cat. The cat came from the sky and bit his nose.

"You bad man!"

"Arrgh--! Fuck off!"

With a bleeding face, Methecula smacked the small cat and threw it to the ground. 

"Mera!"

Shoujo caught the cat but it was obvious that Mera was hurt because he lost consciousness. 

"You bastard! How can you hurt a cat!?"

"That cat bit me!"

His face was now bleeding and he looked ugly. His face contorted in anger. 

He created a tornado out of spite!

"You three! Attack her all at once."

Being the leader of this group, Methecula ordered the three Vindicators. 

Shoujo gritted her teeth. She knew that her life was going to end. She didn't have the strength to move. Not anymore. 

She hugged Mera tightly and closed her eyes. 

"... Calix."

Suddenly, she recalled that man. She hated him. Yet right now, she wanted to see him. She didn't know this feeling. 

Even in her last remaining time, she wanted to see him again and tell him her true feelings. With no hint of a lie. 

"I'm sorry."

She smiled for the last time as tears rolled down her face. 

The tornado rushed towards her, like a raging bull impossible to stop. 

Furthermore, the three Vindicators used their TA to attack her. 

"You don't have to say sorry."

When the tornado almost hit her, a man appeared and stopped it. 

With a single bullet, the tornado vanished into nothingness. As if he returned the nature to normal. 

"I'm here to protect you."
