Lucky 456

[Human, your presence reminds me of this place! Go on! Tell me what is this!]

The DemonGod Minokawa dropped Calix into the ground.

Calix landed safely but he was not okay at all. The teleportation took him to an unknown place and he could not even escape.

'I swear, bad things kept happening that it's not lucky at all!'

He grunted and stood up. His mission was to find Oni Chichi, who was possibly caught by the Council of Torment.

[Human, you are lucky that I'm the one who caught you. If other DemonGods found you, you are already dead now.]

Considering that this Minokawa had the patience to speak to a human, the Minokawa is probably right.

'I don't want to hear that right now. Everything that is happening that is not related to my mission is a misfortune.'

He looked around and...

"So you're saying that you are curious about this thing?"

Calix was confused as he pointed his finger at a certain thing.

[That's right. This thing has the same presence as you. Maybe you know something about it.]

"..."

Calix narrowed his eyes and studied the rusting ship.

'No doubt, it's a flying ship. Although it's rusting and I can't discern its exact age.'

"Do you want me to enter this ship or something?

Since he didn't have a choice, he had to entertain the DemonGod. At least this Minokawa was a good one.

[If you want to, but I advise you to be careful. This thing is fragile.]

"Yeah, I can see that. It's probably soaked in water for so many years that's why it's rusting."

Calix entered the flying ship. It was large, but it was not super large like the one that the Council of Torment hijacked last time.

The structure of the ship was different from what he used to see. There were no rooms, just a wide space.

He walked ahead and reached the broken control room... He found nothing except for an old-ass computer.

"This is a very old computer. More like two decades old."

Something doesn't add up but they were not that hard to understand.

"Maybe this computer was used for the control room because they didn't have enough budget."

Possibly, but not confirmed.

Calix tried to turn on the computer and surprisingly, it worked.

However, Calix frowned because he could not understand these writings.

"What is this? What kind of language is this?"

There were many languages in the world and the most prominent one was the language of Elves. The Elves were the champion of the last era.

Calix had general information about many languages but he never saw these writings at all. As if they were very ancient.

"... Maybe that's the reason why an old computer is in this place."

Calix wanted to take the computer back with him but he knew that the DemonGod was sensing his every movement. So he decided not to do anything that might anger the creature.

Except for the computer, everything on the ship was useless. They were rusting and impossible to use. Calix was even surprised that the ship had enough electricity to turn on a computer.

Calix exited the ship after checking the computer.

[I can see that you find something interesting. What is it?]

"Before that, I'm wondering why you are keeping your distance?"

[Isn't it obvious, because that thing is terrifying.]

"..."

He didn't know what the DemonGod mean. He was even surprised that the DemonGod had something to be scared of.

'I thought DemonGods are reckless monsters that will kill anyone. This is the first time I met a DemonGod like him... Well, I only met two, including him.'

"The flying ship is rusty and it will be eroded in a long time. I entered the place and I found nothing interesting except the computer."

[Computer?]

"That's right. It's an old computer and its language is from the lost era... I'm not sure but I think it's from the Dwarves."

[Dwarves?]

"Some of them that I can unsurely recognize. I'm doing the best that I can."

[Interesting... I'm really right about you.]

"... What do you mean?"

Calix felt like something was strange.

[Do you know how many people entered that thing?]

"I'm assuming none because we are in the Forest of Death."

[No, including all of the Aberrants and humans who explored this forest, you are the only one who can enter that thing who didn't die. I've been in this place for a thousand of years, I witnessed how they died.]

"..."

Calix curiously turned around. Now that he thought of it, the flying ship had an ominous presence.

[Anyway, since you satisfied my curiosity, I will let you off the hook. You are looking for those hooded people, right? I'm going to take you there.]

"I'm surprised that you will help me."

Calix was dumbfounded.

'Is this a side quest or something?' He thought.

[You are lucky that I'm in a good mood. Now, I recommend you to leave this place as soon as possible once you are done with your mission. I can feel the disturbance in the force.]

The Minokawa spread his wings and grabbed Calix. Then, they both disappeared... And witnessed the presence of the Demon King.

Calix didn't think that the DemonGod would help him. That was the last thing he expected.

In just a second, Calix and the DemonGod showed up over the altar where the ritual was going to end.

The sky turned dark and many dead bodies around the ritual. Every one of the sacrifice was female and now they were dead.

In the middle of the altar, a woman accomplished her long-life mission.

'... This an old battlefield. No trees and plants are living in this place at all. As if this place is devoid of life.'

Calix thought as he assessed the place.

"This place is dangerous--!"
