"Archbishop, I sensed that there are people following us."

A small person was running next to Archbishop. After acquiring most information related to the Forest of Death from the Ancient Library, the Council of Torment deduced the general location of the Demon King. 

"You know what to do. I don't want anyone to disturb the ritual."

"As you wish, great Archbishop."

The small person took a dozen of followers to prevent Calix.

"Someone's coming!"

Calix and the two women realized that a group of people were trying to stop them. 

Calix and Marianne started shooting the enemies. They killed three people but it was not enough. 

The small person jumped up and cast his spell. Thousands of insects started coming out of his body. 

The insects targeted the three. Marianne frowned and tried to freeze the insects but they were a lot. She could not freeze all of them. 

"We are losing vision!"

Nikki added. The insects started flying around to block their vision. 

"You have to think well if you think you can beat me."

The voice of the small person echoed around them. Almost as if he was the insects. 

The insects started chipping the cracks of their battlesuits. 

"No matter how tough the battlesuits, there's a way to penetrate its defense."

"These insects are not simple!"

Marianne tried to freeze them but the insects were too active despite the low temperature. Furthermore, they have sharp mouths. 

"If I'm right... The person we are facing is a Demi-God." Marianne added. 

The presence of these insects was dangerous and death-bringing.

Calix decided to use a stun grenade to mess up the insects. He was hoping that the insects were sensitive to strong light. 

The grenade blew up and made the place white for a second.

Doctor Ant roared in anger. The insects started flying around with no sense of direction. Calix's plan worked. 

However, the other followers started attacking. 

"Ugh!"

Nikki was hit by a huge boulder and rolled to the ground. 

"Nikki!" Calix and Marianne yelled at the same time. 

"... I'm fine." Nikki weakly stood up. It was fortunate that she was wearing a battlesuit. 

The battle resumed again. Calix and the two women started eliminating the followers before Doctor Ant could recover. 

"Damn you! Damn you!"

Doctor Ant rampaged and millions of insects spawn out of nowhere. Their target was Calix. 

"I'm not afraid of you!" 

Mento transformed into a flamethrower to roast the insects. 

"You should be!"

The flame was too weak against millions of insects. Calix further realized why Demi-Gods were powerful beings.

Because of their battle, they attracted the Aberrants.

A Sigbin(a giant rat-like creature spanning five meters tall) sprinted and attacked Nikki. 

"Nikki!"

"It's a Sigbin! The weakest Sigbin is a Tiger class. Based on the creature's size, this one is a Dragon-class."

Marianne bit her lip. Sigbins were known for being fast and sneaky. 

"Nikki! Damn these insects!"

Calix yelled. He was getting frustrated over these insects. No matter how many times he burned them, more insects would show up. 

"Hahaha! It's not over! More Aberrants are coming! Unlike you, I can survive this situation!"

Doctor Ant taunted. 

"Calix... You need to leave this to us." 

Marianne realized that there was more to this whole situation. She had to send Calix and prevent another calamity. 

"But!!"

"Don't worry, Nikki is fine. You know her Term Attribute more than me."

"GRAARRGGH---!!!"

A frightening roar shook them to the core. 

"W- what is this?"

Even Doctor Ant was shocked. 

In the place where Nikki rolled, the body of a Sigbin was crushed. 

A monstrosity was standing with a blood hammer. It was big and terrifying. Almost like a war god. 

"GRRRAAGGH!"

The crazy Ogre showed the reason why they were feared! 

"See? Nikki and I are going to be fine. Now, you have to stop the Council of Torment and find this Ona Chacha."

"It's Oni Chichi."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes. 

"... Thanks, Marianne. Let's meet again later."

"Humph!"

Calix grinned. He was nervous... But he had to gamble. 

If he didn't follow the Council of Torment, he would regret it forever. 

Calix started running.

"No one shall leave this place!" 

"You don't have a say in that!"

Marianne gritted her teeth and created a path for Calix. She froze the insects. 

Then, Nikki showed up and started attacking the insects. Despite having no consciousness, Nikki deemed the insects as enemies. 

"Hahaha! This will never kill me! You have to be worried about the Aberrants first!"

Just as he said, more Aberrants showed up. This time, they were stronger than the Sigbin earlier.
