Hollywood What If Chapter 71

Since Kazir Grey and Reese Witherspoon didn't have anything to do at the party. They already greeted most of the people. Some actresses tried to flirt with Kazir right in front of Reese but that was a common thing. 

After all, women prefer a successful man. This statement was basically true. Some might say it was false but it was hard to deny it. Women like strong, handsome, and successful men. 

Anyway, Kazir didn't bother entertaining these women. He knew how hard it was to be caught in the pit of a woman's insanity. To the point that he was allegedly a wife-beater. 

'Maybe some of these women believe that I'm really a wife beater... But they are still trying to flirt with me.'

The couple went to the exit. However, right at the exit, they met someone who was holding a bottle of wine and beet red in intoxication. 

"... Mel?"

Kazir recognized the person. It was Mel Gibson. 

Lethal Weapon was produced by Warner Bros. Naturally, they would invite Mel Gibson to attend the party. Especially when Jon De Bont was the Cinematographer of Lethal Weapon 3. 

Kazir saw Mel Gibson talking to Jon De Bont earlier. He was still sober at that time. But now...

"Oh, look do we have here! Kazir Grey! Congratulations, burp, your movie is the box office champion! Burp!"

Mel Gibson was leaning against the wall. He was clearly drunk.

"..."

Kazir narrowed his eyes even Reese next to him was nervous. 

"Since you are here, I'm going to warn you. I saw you talking to Jeffrey Epstein earlier... I tell you this. DO NOT FUCKING GO."

Kazir didn't expect that Mel Gibson would be the one to warn him about the danger of Epstein Island.

"Kazir. You're still new in Hollywood and you are not tainted by the dirtiness, burp. I'm going to tell you the truth, Hollywood has so many pedophiles. Burp. You have to be strong and reject the temptations. Guaarggh!"

He said that and threw up on the ground. 

Reese could not help but frown in disgust. 

"Mel, I think you need to rest. I will call someone to take care of you."

Instead of being disgusted, Kazir felt thankful instead. Most of the people in the party saw him talking to Jeffrey Epstein. Yet only one person had the guts to warn him.

'Now that I think about it, except for being alcohol and screaming antisemitic rants, Mel Gibson didn't have scandals.'

Perhaps he was wrong. Yet, this man was known for speaking the truth. There was an article about Mel Gibson warning people about the dirtiness of Hollywood. 

"Thanks, Mel... I will keep that in mind."

The organizer called a driver for Mel Gibson to take him to his villa and everything went to normal. 

As for Kazir and Reese... Well, that small incident didn't stop them from "rehearsing" Reese's audition on how to "scream."

The cast and director were obligated to promote their movie. Warner Bros had a set of publicity to promote the movie. Such as the actors showing up in public and doing publicity stunts. 

Ed Helms and Pedro Pascal were invited to a tv show. This was all to promote the movie. Even Reese went to Canada and show her face in one of the cinemas. 

As for Kazir, he obviously wanted to go to New York. Since they were going to promote the movie in New York, Kazir used the chance to meet his family. 

He met his father and Aaron. However, because all of them were busy they only had one dinner the whole time that Kazir was in New York. Their relationship was good so it was not a problem. Men should work hard for their future. His father was proud of them. 

Regarding Cassandra Hoecrap... She was currently receiving so much backlash. Kazir already forgot about her. 

While the promotion was ongoing, Monday showed up and The Hangover grossed $7.65 million. Warner Bros already expected the big dip. Most people would go to cinemas on weekends. So Monday to Thursday usually had a weak audience response. 

In fact the result of The Hangover on Monday was much higher than they expected. Warner Bros thought that the movie would only gross around $5 million.

The next day, Tuesday, July 2, 1996. The movie earned $6.58 million. 

Wednesday. It was $6.65 million. 

Thursday. It was $6.09 million. 

Friday. July 5, 1996. The movie grossed 10.31 million dollars. 

Saturday. It was $12.60 million. 

Sunday. It was $9.88 million. 

Just like I said, more people go watch movies on a weekend. So the box office of The Hangover rose up too. 

Because of this, within ten days, The Hangover had $104.76 million at the box office! Its first ten days grossed more than 100 million dollars. 

Unfortunately, despite earning around $60 million this week, The Hangover didn't get the box office champion this week. 

The one who got the weekly box office champion was none other than Independence Day by 20th Century Fox! 

Its first week was $96.10 million!

The plot of America versus Aliens caught the attention of many people. 

So The Hangover only got second place. 

Yet no one thought that the movie was a failure. Instead, more film companies were trying to contact Kazir regarding his next project! 

Even 20th Century Fox was so eager to start Napoleon Dynamite II. They were trying to convince Kazir to film the movie. 

But instead of agreeing... Kazir sent them a new script instead. 

"What the fuck is this? An action movie?"

Tom Rothman frowned when he first received the script. Never in his mind did he expect that Kazir Grey was interested in an action movie. 

"That bastard... Why does he want to direct an action movie instead of a comedy?"

His two successful movies were all comedy, yet Kazir was trying to start a project about a retired agent who wanted to save his daughter from human traffickers! 

This was outrageous.

"He should stick to his forte..."

Tom Rothman was losing his fuse. 

Independence Day was a success, he was happy about it. But after the success of the movie, 20th Century Fox had to find another movie to invest in. In his opinion, Kazir was the safest bet. Yet the bastard wanted to film an action movie!
