Hollywood What If Chapter 65

[So yeah... I didn't accomplish the 7 chapters today. I only wrote 4 chapters.]

[It's Mother's Day and I treat my Mother and younger brother to Jollibee. It's a famous fast-food restaurant in the Philippines.]

[My Father works overseas in Saudi Arabia, he's a welder, I want to treat him to a nice dinner when he comes back next year. So I told my Father that I love him.]

[Regarding the missing 3 chapters, I will write and post them around 2 to 3 pm Philippine time. Shout out to Matthew, his comment help me quite a lot today. I wrote more than 3 thousand words early in the morning. Thanks.]

There were different kinds of publicity ideas. Perhaps tons of publicity ideas. Especially when the internet became mainstream.

Before that, there was traditional publicity. 

-- Piggyback the news agenda. 

-- Making a scene and leaving a strong impression on people. Whether good or bad.

-- Use social media to engage with people. (Not viable since the internet was just booming and many households in the USA didn't have internet.)

Kazir decided to use the second option to promote the movie. Since he was going to be caught in the scandal, he might as well take advantage of it. 

'The very strong example of this is Kim Kardashian. After the Paris Hilton sex tape was released in the public and caught the attention of the whole of North America. Kim Kardashian followed the trend. Her porn scandal is a massive success.'

To be honest, Kim Kardashian used the sex tape to springboard her fame. 

Now, her net worth was 1.2 billion as of 2023. 

'People are unforgiving for a wife beater. Even me, I fucking hate men who hurt women.'

Despite having a dispute with Cassandra, Kazir never resorts to physical violence. 

"Are you ready, Kazir?"

Salvatore asked next to him. 

Kazir nodded. 

They came out of the Warner Bros. Right after they left the building, they were surrounded by hundreds of reporters.

"Director Grey! Is it true that you beat your wife?"

"All I can say is that don't trust all women. Some of them use sympathy to take advantage of others."

"Director Grey, the CBS interviewed Cassandra last night. She cried and said that you used to beat her whenever you return to the house. She said that was the reason she divorced you. Is that true?"

"The court already stated that Cassandra never filed a case of assault against me. I gave her most of my properties at that time because I want nothing from her."

Kazir and Salvatore reached the car and entered it. Many reporters tried to ask more but they failed. 

"Are you really sure this plan will work?"

Salvatore was skeptical. It was already three days when Cassandra started the accusations. All of the media covered the story. Even Warner Bros joined. However, Warner Bros kept stating that Kazir Grey was the director of The Hangover. 

Whenever his name was on the news, The Hangover would always be with him. So The Hangover had free publicity. They didn't even have to pay for advertisements because all of the newspapers and news channels already advertise their movie. 

"Two days, announce that we will have a press conference to confront these allegations."

"We already filed a lawsuit for defamation. Cassandra Hoecrap and her lawyer already received the notice."

"I don't want anything from her but she keeps disturbing me. I want to send her to jail if that's possible."

Kazir leaned against the seat and closed his eyes. He just finished the post-production of The Hangover. Everything was already done. 

Warner Bros already said that they would release it next week. Which was June 28. They decided not to have a test screening since the movie was on a hot seat. 

"I understand. Their side actually contacted us that they will stop all of the allegations if we gave them $15 million."

Kazir just chuckled. He already expected that they would ask for money. That was the reason why they were doing this. Since the court already announced that they were divorced, Cassandra was trying to find a way to siphon his money. 

"Hm?"

While in the car, Kazir's phone started ringing. He opened the phone and found his brother calling him.

"Hello? Brother?"

[Kazir, I heard the story. Are you alright?]

"I'm fine, Aaron. Dad already called yesterday and he asked the same question."

He chuckled. 

[That's good to hear.]

"Are you not going to ask me if I really beat Cassandra?"

[Nah, I believe you. That bitch is probably gritting her teeth because she didn't get more money from you. Besides, if you really beat her, I'm still on your side. We're family. Although you will definitely go to prison if you really beat her.]

Both of them laughed. 

The call ended after a few minutes of conversation. Kazir was thankful that his father and brother were on his side. 

His father even recommended a lawyer. Still, Kazir trusted Terrence Downey so he rejected it. 

'Terrence Downey is going to have a feast over this lawsuit.'

All of these allegations were futile because Cassandra could not show any evidence to back her statement. Her intention was clear, she just wanted to get money. 

Unfortunately, Warner Bros was on Kazir's side. They would definitely destroy Cassandra's life. 

'I've seen so many men who got their lives destroyed because of false allegations, divorced, and child DNA tests. Many men went to prison because of false rape allegations. Many men killed themselves because society hates them, for no reason.'

Kazir was trying to be a good person. But some things shouldn't be taken for granted. Cassandra did this to herself. 

'She's probably not the mastermind. Someone is controlling her... I already have an idea.'

He thought his trouble with WMA was over. However, it seemed that some people could not let the grudge go. 

"Make sure that Cassandra will have many lawsuits to face."

"I will."

Salvatore agreed. He was mad at the insatiable bitch. She already got most of Kazir's property after the divorce. Yet she could not settle and wanted more. 

Time Warner and other media outlets started portraying Kazir's life. Some said that he was an honest person, and some said he was a psychotic man. Many allegations were pointed at him, all because of a woman crying/lying. 

'... Now I understand Johnny Depp's situation. When the whole world is against you, you can see who you can trust.'

Suddenly, his phone rang again. This time, it was Reese Witherspoon. 

She wanted to invite him to a dinner to relax. Kazir appreciate her goodwill, so he agreed to meet her. After all, he needed someone to cuddle...
