Hollywood What If Chapter 58

[There was a storm in my area and we lost electricity last night. I apologize if I can't post last night.]

"Who is it? Who is the bastard that is trying to affect our shooting schedule?"

Kazir sat down after today's shooting ended. Reese Witherspoon was sitting next to him, she was reading the script to make sure that she won't make a mistake tomorrow. 

Her role(Jade) in the movie was an escort who had a baby. The very reason why she got the role was simple, she was beautiful, sexy, and her smile was charming... Added the fact that she had a relationship with Kazir.

"I believe it's going to be fine. You just have to calm down."

Reese smiled and put the script on the table. Then, she squeezed Kazir's hand to ease his frustration. 

"We are two days late on schedule because of the Children's Association. They are asking for something outrageous! Why do they even ask for vegetable dishes when the baby can't even eat them! That's insanity!"

Kazir grumbled. They didn't agree to any of their outrageous request that was not related to the baby. However, it was still irking him because they were causing a scene. They were trying to slow the down the shooting. 

Thankfully, there was only one last scene with the baby tomorrow. Once everything was over, Kazir could take a faster pace. 

"Relax. A director like you should be calm."

"I'm calm."

"I know, but you need to be calmer."

Reese Witherspoon was actually amused by Kazir's reaction. She thought that man was a calm person who always calculate everything. However, when it comes to filming his movie, Kazir was always serious and nervous. 

'I can't believe that he's acting like this when we're alone... Kinda cute.'

She giggled. At least she realized that Kazir was not a perfect person. 

'He is mature and childish at the same time.'

"How about this," Reese leaned closer and kissed his neck. "Let's go to a casino and relax. After that, we can go to your room and have some fun."

Kazir looked at the beautiful woman in front of him and kissed her forehead. 

"Fine... But I never gamble in my entire life."

"There's a first time for everyone. Besides, we are going to have fun. But I remind you that never be addicted to this kind of thing, gambling is bad."

"I understand."

"Now... How about a quickie?"

Reese leaned closer and let Kazir feel her breasts. 

"Okay." Kazir grinned. 

He already forgot about the problem after having some fun time with Reese. Unfortunately, they didn't go out that night. 

They decided to postpone their visit to a casino. They spent their night having "fun". 

Early in the morning, Kazir started his job. The crew was preparing the car that the three protagonists were going to use. 

Producer Enrico Pusi showed up and approached Kazir. 

"I got the information from Warner Bros. Apparently, Paramount, Orion, and Miramax are trying to sabotage our movie. They have movies to release in the summer."

"But we still haven't any confirmed release date? Why are they so eager to sabotage us?"

"That, I don't know. In fact, even New Line Cinema wanted to cause a problem. But Terry Semel warned Robert Shaye not to fuck around."

"..."

Kazir touched his chin.

'These three companies tried to buy Napoleon Dynamite from me, but they failed...'

To be fair, Kazir knew that this kind of thing would happen one way or another. This was a competition. 

"I understand."

After hearing this information, Kazir took some distance from the crew and called his agent.

[Hello? Kazir?]

"Salvatore, I want to know Paramount, Orion, and Miramax movements these days."

[I will fax them to you later.]

Since Salvatore was his agent, he already had an idea why Kazir asked him about the three film companies. 

"Thank you. Oh, if some of them are trying to contact you... Tell him that I have a script that may interest them."

There was no eternal enemy. Everyone was ready to cooperate as long as there were benefits. Kazir understood it very well. 

[Okay.]

These companies were smart. They would never do something out of the line. Even Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox would sabotage him if they didn't have cooperation with him.

20th Century Fox was hoping that Kazir would direct Napoleon Dynamite II. So they would never join to cause trouble. 

As for Warner Bros, the answer was obvious. They would never sabotage their own project. 35 million dollars is too big to fuck around. 

Just like Salvatore promised, the film companies stopped disturbing his film after Salvatore said that Kazir was trying to sell a script. 

The title of the script had an experimental name of Teddy Bear. 

Salvatore gave them a portion of the script and Paramount and Miramax already contacted him. They were interested in the film and they wanted Kazir to direct it. However, they were still not giving any amount to buy the project. 

Just like 20th Century Fox, the other companies were waiting for the results of The Hangover. 

If the movie became successful... Then another competition would happen to buy his script.

Se7en and Napoleon Dynamite were huge successes so they were confident in Kazir's creativity. 

'Simple as that. As much as possible, I don't want to antagonize any film company. That's not the right thing to do.'

The shooting that day became much simple and the Children's Association kept their mouths shut. As if they were normal people who didn't cause trouble these past few days. 

The scenes with the baby ended after seven days and Kazir sighed in relief. At least they completed the scenes within the planned schedule. 

'It's all because the Children's Association didn't fuss around.'

Since then, the movie started to take its pace. Their plan for the next week was to shoot all of the scenes with Mike Tyson and the tiger. 

'That's right. The tiger that we hire is Mike Tyson's tiger.'

Mike just recently came out of the prison and Kazir was actually afraid to meet the legendary boxer. Perhaps because he knew how dangerous the young Mike Tyson was.
