Hollywood What If Chapter 46

[I'll try to post two HWI chapters tomorrow.]

There are reasons why Kazir decided to audition Ed Helms and Pedro Pascal for the movie The Hangover.

First, he cooperated with the two and they had a great cooperation. The two actors were serious about their job.

The second is, money... The salary for each of them will never exceed 2 million dollars. Ed Helms just recently became famous and asking for an astronomical amount was a sure way to end his career.

'Perhaps he can ask for 2.5 million dollars. But more than that might be a problem. I hope his agent understands that.'

The ones who usually negotiate with the film companies are the agents. Actors would never show their faces before everything is settled.

The third reason why he invited them was because the two would have successful careers in the future. At least their faces were well known. With that, Kazir was confident in their talents.

These three are the main reasons why he wanted Ed Helms and Pedro Pascal to join The Hangover.

The other reason is they respect Kazir.

As the director of the movie, his position must be firm. He didn't like someone who would question his authority, that's not how it works.

"It's nice to work with you, Enrico."

"Glad to hear that."

Enrico Pusi and Kazir Grey shook hands.

Their first meeting was actually memorable. Because Enrico Pusi was the one who accepted his script. Obviously, Enrico Pusi didn't cooperate with him.

Se7en was too gruesome and Enrico felt like the movie would never be successful at the box office. Furthermore, an unknown director like Kazir wanted to direct the film.

'Who would have thought that Se7en and Napoleon Dynamite will be at the top of last year's box office list.'

Enrico sighed in his heart.

As for the second week of February 1996, Se7en was dropped at North American cinemas. It has a $202 million box office.

So far, the global box office of the movie was more than 400 million dollars! This amount was enough to say that the movie was successful.

Let's not even talk about Napoleon Dynamite which has a $250 million box office globally.

'I hope his next movie will have more than 100 million dollars... I have a small share once the movie exceeded that amount.'

Of course, producers are rich people. Some of them can earn more than 100 million dollars annually. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and George Lucas were famous/rich producers.

"Now, let's start our audition."

The two smiled. Acting like they were brothers.

.........
......
...

"I'm going to take the role, I'm going to take the role..."

A fat man kept talking to himself in front of the mirror. Perhaps he was convincing himself.

The person in front of the mirror was Black Jack.

He was 27 this year. He started his career as an actor at the year of 1992 in a movie called Bon Roberts... It was not famous.

He had a role in Demolition Man starring Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone. It was a small role.

He had a role in Dead Man Walking too. But it was a small role again.

He had a role in Waterworld too... But his scenes are cut so no one knew about it.

Three days ago, his agent notified him that a new project invited him to audition. It was The Hangover.

Jack Black left the restroom and sat in the waiting seat in front of the audition room. He saw many actors sitting everywhere.

Every one of them was enemies. They were ready to tear each other's faces to get the role...

Unlike the other well-known actors, Jack Black didn't have a complete copy of the script. He only has half. However, he could discern that his role has an important part in the film.

He was fortunate to reach the last round of auditioning. Auditioning usually has three rounds.

The first was to check if the actor/actress fit the appearance of the character.

The second was to check their acting talent.

The last was when the producer and director would attend the audition to hire the best ones.

Obviously, Ed Helms and Pedro Pascal who has a connection with Director Grey easily passed the two audition rounds.

If Black Jack got the role, his road to stardom would be clearer. He looked around and identified Ed Helms who was reading the script.

Because of the success of Napoleon Dynamite, the unknown actor became one of the most famous actors in Hollywood.

In one movie, Ed Helms's career became so bright.

"Next, number 13, Jack Black."

"Yes! That's me!"

Jack Black entered the room and found a camera and a seat.

"Good morning, Mister Jack."

"Hello, Director Grey." He nodded enthusiastically.

"Now, you're one of the actors who have the privilege to acquire the script. So I believe you have an idea of your role."

"That's right."

"You can choose what scenes you want to use for the audition."

"Then... I chose the one where Alan met the tiger for the first time."

"Okay."

Kazir nodded. That scene was actually one of the funniest parts of the movie.

Acting like a man who recently woke up after a whole night drinking, Jack Black entered the imaginary bathroom... His eyes widened and he quickly ran away from the bathroom, screaming "There's a tiger in the bathroom, there's a fucking tiger in the bathroom." after he kicked Phil's balls...

Kazir Grey and Enrico Pusi watched the audition seriously. It was a funny scene, but they have to keep their seriousness.

Renner was recording Jack Black's audition tape to review it later. That was the reason why there was always a camera in the audition room.

"Thank you, Mister Jack. You can leave now."

"Thank you, Director."

Jack Black didn't know if he passed the audition. The expressions of the producer and director were too stern. He gulped and left the room in confusion.

"He will have the role."

Once Jack Black left the audition room, Kazir stated his judgment.

"Well, out of all the actors who audition for Alan's role, Black Jack fits him."

Enrico Pusi didn't have a problem.

Comments
