Hollywood What If Chapter 43

The Year 1995 was average for Hollywood.

Unlike last two years ago when Universal Pictures released Jurassic Park, the movies in 1995 didn't have a strong influence globally.

Note that the global box office of Jurassic Park was over 1 billion dollars! It was a very hard feat. Countries all over the world realized the power of Hollywood since then.

Obviously, this kind of achievement was hard to replicate. Only the crazy madman who destroyed a ship could topple this achievement.

The first movie on the global box office list this year was 'Die Hard: With a Vengeance' with $366 million globally.

Second was Toy Story with $365 million. The first computer-animated movie. The one that started the revolution of the animation industry.

Third on the list was 007: Goldeneye with 356 million dollars. Obviously, James Bond was famous all over the world.

Fourth was Pocahontas with $347 million.

Fifth was Batman Forever with $336 million.

Sixth was Apollo 13 with 335 million dollars.

Seventh was Se7en. Quite ironic, $328 million. After being released for five months, the movie earned more than 300 million dollars globally. On top of that, this amount would still go up. The statistics of Se7en were still increasing in a steady manner.

The top 13 was Napoleon Dynamite with $210 million.

It surpassed Braveheart which has 209 million dollars and became the top 13 in the list. Unfortunately for Braveheart, it was slowly losing its competency after a few months. The movie was about Scotland and most people didn't know William Wallace.

Although Braveheart might regain its popularity once it received an award in Oscar.

As for Napoleon Dynamite. Because of its genre, comedy, people believe that the movie would surpass $250 million in the next month.

"Fuck! Carl Morin! What the fuck is wrong with you!"

Vice President Lawlor Dean of WMA screamed after throwing the documents to Carl Morin.

WMA has two branches, one in New York and one in Los Angeles.

As the Vice President assigned in Los Angeles, Vice President Lawlor Dean wanted to prove himself to the Chairman.

However, he could not believe that one of their ex-clients became successful after leaving WMA.

To make the matter worst, it was a director!

Everybody knows that directors and producers are the heart and brain of filming crews. They have the authority to choose the actors and actresses who they want to join the films.

A superstar director is much heavy than a superstar actor!

"Carl! Explain to me why Kazir Grey left our company! You fucking retarded, you let a talented director like him leave WMA! What is wrong with you!"

Everyone would be angry.

Kazir's two movies have almost 500 million at the box office! In just a year! Of course Vice President Lawlor Dean was fuming in anger.

Carl Morin kept his mouth shut. He just lowered his head and let the Vice President scream at him.

"Tell me! Tell me!!"

"S- Sir. You said that Kazir didn't deserve William Morris because he spilled water on your suite."

Left with no choice, Carl Morin answered the question.

"Hah!? So you're passing the blame on me!? Are you insane!? Answer me!"

"... No sir."

He gritted his teeth.

"This bastard... Directors are important."

Vice President Lawlor Dean sat down with a scowling face. Whenever he looked at the newspaper, his face scrunches because of the good news related to Se7en and Napoleon Dynamite. He felt like he lost a diamond.

To make matters worst, Kazir Grey became a client of CAA! Their rival.

WMA and CAA have strong friction with each other. Especially now that CAA was getting stronger.

"I don't care what you do, I want Kazir Grey to return to WMA as soon as possible. Give him a suitable contract, something that will entice him to jump another agency."

"Yes sir."

Carl Morin left the office with a dark face.

He was bewildered as well. He didn't expect that Kazir actually has a talent for filming comedy.

'If I have known, I should have forced him to shoot comedy instead.'

Just like Vice President Lawlor Dean, Carl Morin regretted it as well.

If he knew that Kazir Grey would become successful, he would have hugged his legs firmly.

Unfortunately, he didn't know the future. Or else he would be a big agent with a talented director under him.

Carl Morin sighed and thought of a plan to convince Kazir to change an agency.

In the face of money, everyone was ready to kneel. Especially agents, these people have thick faces.

"David!"

"Cheers!"

David Fincher and Kazir clicked their wine glasses and laughed. Both of them were successful directors now!

They were getting contacted by film companies here and there.

"David, I thought 20th Century Fox excommunicated you?"

They were invited by 20th Century Fox. Napoleon Dynamite was a huge success and all of the crew members attended.

"About that, 20th Century Fox invited me because they are interested in my next film."

If Kazir was right, David Fincher's next movie was "The Game" starring Michael Douglas.

"To be honest, I'm still not sure. New Line Cinema is good to me these days."

David Fincher only attended this banquet to meet Kazir. He wanted to support his friend.

"So this woman is...?"

"Hello, I'm Reese Witherspoon. I'm Kazir's friend."

Reese Witherspoon was actually standing next to Kazir the whole time. She was his partner for tonight's banquet.

"I see, friend huh?"

David smirked at Kazir.

Kazir just kept his smile. Reese introduced herself as his friend so he could not deny it.
