These past few days, my family grew restless. The kids slowly felt the changes and they became gloomy as well.

We could not help it, the protests outside were getting intensified and there were even a few people heavily injured yesterday.

We didn't join the protests because we knew that it was useless. The government had a valid reason to demolish the houses near the road.

"It's fortunate that Mrs. De Guadalupe had made a good contract with the government. At least she can live for the rest of her life without a problem once the apartment building is demolished." Penelope muttered next to me while folding the clothes.

This building was already old and there and Mrs. De Guzman didn't sell any apartments. She only rent them, so there was no problem with the residents if the building was demolished.

As for us, our problem was that we haven't found a place to stay.

Well, we still have six months to think about it.

"Let's go to church tomorrow."

Penelope said and the kids heard her. They became excited when they heard that they could leave the house tomorrow.

As for me, I just nodded and looked at the list that I made. Because we received a big amount from my in-laws, I started writing every possible business that I could do.

My intention was to start a small business, maybe selling some food. Perhaps a fruit stand.

It was bugging me these days because I didn't know what to choose.

"Honey? Are you listening?"

"Huh?" I looked at my wife and she was clearly worried.

She sighed and pinched my cheek.

"Just take it slow. Once you start your business, you will be busy. Maybe you will not have enough time to spend with the kids. So how about we go outside, hm?"

She smiled and gave me a peck on my lips. I chuckled and hugged her, she yelped in surprise and tried to push me.

"Keith, I swear!"

"It's not my fault. You're the one who kissed me. It's your fault for being too beautiful."

"Humph!" She snorted but her lips were trembling and curling up.

"Dajjy! Mommy! Hug me too!"

Seeing that we were cuddling, Sophia approached us with her baby walker. Penelope giggled and carried her, causing Sophia to be happy.

"Yay!"

"What about you, Roman?" Penelope glanced at her son.

"I'm not a kid anymore."

Roman. This kid... Why doesn't he speak a bit more? At least enough for Penelope to understand him.

Penelope chuckled and approached him instead. She didn't bother listening to his antics and kissed his forehead.

Penelope started showering them with kisses. Sophia was giggling in happiness while Roman kept his usual stern expression

"... What about me?" I asked.

"Humph! You will get yours later!"

... Does that means.

Nice!

I grinned as I heard my wife's approval. Roman didn't have school tomorrow and we didn't have to wake up early.

So my wife and I are free to do whatever we want because there's no reason to wake up early.

If there was a thing I want right now, I hope time quickly pass.

Unfortunately, my wish didn't happen. Time passed without changes.

We decided to stay inside the house because the protestors outside were getting crazy.

While we were eating our dinner, we heard the police siren and lost our appetite. Sophia started crying because she thought the police would take her.

I glanced outside and witnessed a few people getting arrested. As for the reasons why they were arrested, I didn't have a clue... Because of this, the protest intensify to the point that one of the police pulled out his gun and shot into the sky.

I sighed watching the ruckus.

Sophia further cried when she heard the gunshot. My wife had to rock-a-bye her just to make her feel good.

Then, I glanced at my son... He was busy tinkering with his Rubik's cube. It seemed that he didn't hear the gunshot, thank God.

"... Let's sleep."

I said to them.

"Mommy! I want to slweep with you! I don't want to bwe taken by the police! Wuuu wuuu, Mommy, I'm scared."

Penelope was sad watching Sophia crying so she reluctantly nodded.

... Well, I don't have a choice, do I?

It seemed that Penelope's promise would be postponed.

"Me too."

Roman added.

Roman, you're too old to sleep with us. You're five years old!

What? Five years old is still young? So what?

"..."

I bitterly smiled and let them sleep with us.

Sophia was between my wife and me. As for Roman, he slept on Penelope's other side.

That little kid said that he didn't want to sleep with me, he preferred his mother... So am I. I want to sleep with Penelope as well.

Sophia was sleeping adorably so I guess this was worth it.

While sleeping, I was holding my wife's hand. This family was worth giving my life to. I slept contently, knowing that my wife and children were with me.

The next day, we went out and found that the protest stopped. It seemed that what the police did last night alarmed them.

We went to the Catholic church to pray. To be honest, I was not a devout believer. However, what I experienced made me realize that there were divine beings. I even met one.

We entered the church and sat on the wooden long chair... and spend hours listening to the priest's sermon. Not gonna lie, my butt hurts after a few hours of sitting.
