Hollywood What If Chapter 14

"What did you say?"

Aaron was shocked for a few seconds that his brain stopped thinking. 

"I just divorced."

"God Damn It! Speak like a human. Do you know the human language? Do you know English?"

He got impatient and raised his voice. Then, he realized that the other people in the cafe looked at him. Aaron was embarrassed and glared at Kazir instead. 

"Kazir, I want to hear everything."

He was mad and disappointed because his younger brother didn't talk to him regarding marriage. Heck, he didn't even him. Of course he was too shocked to hear that Kazir was already married, erm, already divorced. 

"Where should I start? I met her when I was working at the filming crew, we were coworkers. She is beautiful..."

Kazir started telling his love story and his older listened seriously. 

Just like what Kazir said, their love story ended in divorce. In the end, there was no 'happily ever after'.

"I can't believe that you gave her the house that you worked hard to buy. Kazir, are you crazy? Why didn't you fight for your property?"

Aaron was already fuming in anger. He wanted to find the bitch and her lover and teach them a lesson.

"You should have kept the house and sold it or something."

"Brother, did you remember what happened between Mom and Dad?"

"..."

Hearing what Kazir said, Aaron quickly shut his mouth. 

Both brothers still remembered what happened around 9 years ago. Their mother cheated and fought for divorce. She stole half of their father's property and won the case. 

Their father was depressed for years before he recovered and started another business. 

Instead of siding with their mother, the two brothers decided to live with their father. Their father clearly loves them, he always his free time bonding with the two brothers. 

Besides, they didn't want to live with their mother and her lover. 

"I rather give her the house than infest me with problems."

"Indeed. You can buy another house, but peace is hard to find."

They both experience the tragedy of having a broken family. In their opinion, it was best to end the relationship than slowly die in madness. Watching their father in desperation was the last thing they want. 

"Are you still not going to talk to Dad, after all this year?"

"... I don't know."

Kazir shook his head with a bitter smile. He had a fight with his father because he wanted to pursue being a director. 

In fact, he promised that he would never return until he was not successful. 

In the end, he never became a successful director. He just heard one day that his father died because of a heart attack. 

Kazir was living in dark days after that incident. He felt that he failed his father. He didn't even meet him for the last time. Even now, he regretted that fact. 

'After that, Aaron never contacted me again. I guess he was holding a grudge.'

However, Kazir received a second chance and he wanted to change his fate. He decided to talk to his brother before it was too late.

"When are you going to see him then?"

"Once I proved myself, to Hollywood and the whole world."

"... Then, how much do need?"

Aaron already knew the purpose of this meeting. Instead of being mad and disappointed, he was elated to know that his younger brother needed him. At least now Kazir asked for his help.

"Brother, half a million. We will sign a contract and you will invest in my film. I will not ask for anything except that."

"Deal. I thought you will ask for five million or something. Even a businessman like me doesn't have liquid funds big as that."

Their family runs Marketing and Promotional Services. Their location was in New York and their business was thriving enough for their family to be called rich. 

"I don't have to sign anything, I trust you with everything. In fact," Aaron leaned closer. 

"Dad decided to create a trust fund and the two of us are the beneficiary. You don't have to return the money, it's all yours."

"No brother. We're doing a proper business, I will definitely return your investment thrice the amount."

"Heh. What's your account number?" He casually waved his hand. 

"Are you sure you don't want to sign a contract?"

"It's fine. But I have one condition."

"As expected, you have another intention." Kazir sighed. He knew that this meeting had another meaning.

"Just listen to me. I'm thinking of getting married, I want you to attend the wedding. I'm going to propose to my girlfriend this year, around Christmas."

"Of course, I will definitely attend."

Realizing that his older wanted to start a family, Kazir promised that he would support him. He hoped that Aaron would have a wonderful marriage, unlike him.

"That's good to hear." Aaron nodded, happy to hear his answer. 

"Then, give me your account number and I will send the money." 

Aaron casually opened his phone and called his secretary. He nodded at Kazir after. 

"Thanks, brother, I will promise this investment will never be in vain." 

The two started talking to keep up with each other's lives. Kazir talked about his life in Hollywood while Aaron told his story about helping their father expand the business. 

One thing was clear, they were happy to see each other again. This meeting was worth it, they reconciled. 

"I love you bro, but no homo."

"Say that again and you will lose your front teeth."

They laughed. 

After confirming that there was a half million in his bank account, Kazir started his plan. He contacted the crew that he had worked with last time.
