Hollywood What If Chapter 10

The sun rose up and greeted the people. Kazir frowned as he heard the creams from the outside. 

He heard a group of people yelling and it seemed that they were having a conflict. 

Kazir chose this area because the rent was cheap. Of course, he knew the reasons why. 

A few seconds later, the commotion slowly dissipated. 

"Thank God I didn't hear a gunshot. Last week ago, they are blasting bullets a couple of blocks away."

He chuckled. Indeed, this place was dangerous. Unfortunately, he had to stay here for the time being. 

Anyway, he was not in this place most of the time anyway. Now that Se7en was reaching its climax, Kazir had to stay all day in the studio to help the crew. 

After brushing his teeth, Kazir left the apartment and returned to the studio. 

"Good morning Kazir."

"Good morning."

Because of his amiability, people around him treated him better. Well, his position was not the director so he didn't have to show his serious side. 

Then, Kazir saw David reading his schedule. David's expression was awful, it seemed that he didn't have a proper sleep. 

'Considering that this movie will decide his future, I can understand him.'

If this movie flopped, not only David, even Kazir would lose his confidence in himself. 

Se7en was a cult classic and critics regard the film highly. This film affected the detective genre. 

"David, I think you need a vacation after the filming."

Kazir approached him with concern. 

"Thanks, but I have to finish the post-production first before I can think of resting."

David looked tired but his eyes were shining strong. 

"When's the schedule of the release?"

Kazir was interested to know when the film would be released in the theaters. 

"September 22. The film doesn't have a strong opponent and New Line Cinema is confident of releasing it on September 22."

"I see." Kazir nodded. 

He was elated to know that Se7en would follow the original release date. With this, the film had a higher chance of winning at the box office. 

It was March 2 and the filming was close to the end.

Gwyneth Paltrow already left the crew after shooting all of her scenes. So did Ronald Lee Ermey. 

The only actors who joined the crew were the three important characters of Se7en. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and David Spacey. 

"If there's nothing bad that will happen, today will be the last day of filming." 

That's why David was more serious. So serious that he didn't sleep.

"David, take care of yourself."

"Kazir, I'm not that old." David Fincher laughed. 

"Thank you for giving me the chance of filming Se7en." 

"No, the honor should be mine. I'm happy to have a collaboration with the great David Fincher." 

They laughed.

...

"What now?"

Kazir asked himself after the filming was completed. 

David Fincher took his team and started editing the film. Since Kazir's job was finished, he didn't have a reason to stay. He already received his salary. 

However, Kazir Grey was having a crisis.

He took a blank paper and started writing what he learned. 

Kazir Grey watched David Fincher for four months. He could see that David was a great Director and he controlled his crew well.

However, Kazir Grey had enough experience of being a director. He was a director for almost 40 decades if added his last life. 

'If there are things that I lack, these are...'

Opportunity, Luck, and Thick Face. 

After studying David Fincher for months, Kazir learned a few things. 

David took the opportunity to direct Se7en after his failure at "Alien 3". 

He was a thick face as well. He didn't care what the others said to him. He kept working on his film even though people lost confidence in him. 

As for the last thing, Luck... Perhaps only God could manipulate this power. However, Kazir could say that David was lucky. His filming was smooth and easy, he didn't face a troublesome situation.

Kazir nodded. He lacked these three things. 

He closed his eyes for a second and decided to think of his next step. 

If things went well, then his venture would be a smooth process too. 

"Oh that's right, I almost forgot something important... Gamble. David is gambling his dreams, and all depends on Se7en if his gamble will succeed."

Kazir decided to gamble too. 

"If I can't make a movie with a big budget, then I will start with small-budget films."

Kazir started listing the movies that he knew had a small budget.
