Hollywood What If Chapter 9

The filming was smooth. David Fincher was working hard after the failure of "Alien 3". He understood that this was his second chance to prove himself.

While he was fighting for his dreams, Kazir Grey was watching him.

Kazir's job after he was done being a screenwriter was simple-- Miscellaneous work. He helped dismantle scenes, move photographic equipment, ordering a takeaway.

He did his best just to help the crew. After all, this movie was born from his script and he wanted to see it succeed.

'If Se7en gain success in theaters, then I will have a big achievement and it can help me in my career.'

"Cut! This one is over."

David's voice echoed and everyone started moving the set. Their next scene was the scene where Detective Mills would face the serial killer in the alley.

In the script, it was raining and Detective Mills had a hard time facing the serial killer. He almost lost his life. Thankfully, the serial killer let him leave.

"The sprinklers should work fine," Kazir said. He was one of the people who set the sprinklers to make artificial rain.

To make sure the equipment would not get wet, they were covered with transparent plastic.

"Se7en, location scene back alley, act three--"

The assistant said and the filming started.

In the scene, Detective Mills was leaning against the dumpster. He was cold and afraid. He was gasping. His face bleeding.

A pistol was pointed at his head, almost touching his scalp. He knew that one pull of the trigger and his brain would splatter.

However, the serial killer didn't kill him. He left him alone in the cold rain.

"Cut! Let's have a ten-minute break and retake it."

David announced and Brad Pitt's personal assistant approached the actor and wrapped him in a hot towel. Nobody wants the actors to get cold while filming, it would cost them money and time.

Brad Pitt glanced at David Fincher, wondering if he made a mistake.

"Brad, I'm sorry I will talk to you later. I'll talk to someone first."

"Okay, Director."

Despite being a Director who flopped "Alien 3", actors and actresses would still respect the Director. In filming, the Director is always the King.

Besides, leaving a good impression was the best way to get more roles. Brad Pitt believed that David Fincher had what it takes to be successful.

"Kazir."

Suddenly, David called Kazir. Probably asking about the things related to the plot.

"What do you think should Mills do while in the face of death?"

The answer was obvious but it seemed that David Fincher was asking for something. He looked confused as if he forgot something.

He watched the scenes and he felt that something was not right. As the writer of the script and a Director who filmed three movies, David respected Kazir's opinion.

"David, this is just my conjecture. But I think Mills is not afraid of death, he is afraid of something else."

"What do you mean?" David frowned.

"Let's see... I think Mills is afraid of leaving his wife alone once he's dead. That's just my opinion though."

Kazir understood that this was not his film and he didn't have control over it.

"I see. Let's try filming it that way. Thanks, Kazir."

"No problem."

Filming a movie was not a one-man show. It was built by teamwork and everyone respected each other's roles. Kazir studied the crew and everyone had a tacit understanding.

'I heard they are David's crew. I guess that's the reason why their bond is strong.'

Kazir didn't have a permanent crew, but he knew a few people who he could hire whenever he had a film to shoot. Just like him, they were freelancers who didn't have a permanent crew.

'I wonder what they are doing. I talked to Renner two weeks ago and he is still working in a camera rental business.'

"Kazir."

While Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey were having their confrontation in front of the camera, Morgan Freeman approached Kazir.

This is Hollywood and connection is a very strong weapon. Morgan Freeman heard that Kazir Grey was a Director.

Morgan read the script and he found that Kazir wanted to direct it but the management didn't agree so he passed the position to David Fincher.

Morgan understood that a Director would never lower his position to a mere screenwriter.

One day, Kazir would start his own project. If Kazir became famous, then it would never be bad to have a connection with him before he got famous.

The man in front of him might be younger but he took him seriously. After all, the 26 years old man in front of him wrote a script like Se7en.

This movie would become a cult classic. Perhaps it would erase the genre of Thriller-Detective because no one could top it off.

"Morgan."

"Kazir, I read the script and it's a mystery to me how you wrote it. Can you tell me honestly, what's in the box? I want to know if it's really 'that thing' in the box?"

"Ah, about that... You can deduce it yourself." He chuckled.

He didn't know how to explain.

Morgan Freeman didn't force him and laughed alongside him. They were far from the filming so they could talk casually.

David Fincher understood that the filming would end in two months and the last scene would be the 'what's in the box?' scene. Perhaps David wanted everyone to face it last because it was disturbing.

Anyway, Kazir didn't know the exact reason.
