Chapter 40




Thankfully, when we went to the BDO bank, they had just recently opened. 


The guard greeted us with good morning and opened the door. It was Christmas Eve and everyone was affected by the atmosphere. After all, this was the season of giving. 


Sophia thanked the guard by waving her hand. The bank just opened and we were the first customer.


I went to the front desk and talked to the bank manager. The process was quite smooth after I gave the money and my bank account number to them. 


After the process, it was written in my bank book that I had deposited over 100 thousand. I smiled like a stupid person after seeing it. 


In my two lifetimes, this was the first time I had 100 thousand in my bank account. 


'Even my allowance back in college is not that big.' 


Of course, the reason I couldn't have 100 thousand in my bank was that I'm a spendthrift person. I recklessly buy things that I want. Heck, I even brought my girlfriends to hotels many times just to show how rich I was. Ah, the good old days. 


The bank manager smiled at us before we left. 


"Dad, McDonald's..."


After leaving the bank, Roman paused and looked at a certain restaurant. The BDO bank was close to McDonald's and Roman easily found it. 


In front of the restaurant, a real clown was waving his hand and giving pamphlets. This certain clown was famous in this era. 


"Jajjy, I want to see Wonald the Cwown!" Even Sophia protested. 


'Well, I'm also interested to see this clown again. McDonald's stopped using this mascot after the 2000s because movies affected its image. Perhaps there's another reason but I'm not sure. All I can is that it's been so long since I saw this clown.'


Ronald McDonald, the face of McDonald's. 


Penelope and I chuckled after seeing the kids' reaction. It seemed that they wanted to meet the famous clown. 


"It's still early, maybe we can enter the restaurant and eat."


"Yay!"


"Mommy, I wuv you!" Sophia hugged her mother. 


"What about me?" I asked. 


"Of course I wuv Jajjy too! Hehe!" 


As we got closer, I started seeing the famous clown of McDonald's. He saw us approaching and smiled. 


Then, he gave us a pamphlet with pictures of burgers and fries. I didn't read, we were going to eat here anyway. Might as well see the real ones. 


"Hello!"


"Wah! Wonald!" Sophia was excited and Penelope didn't have a choice but to put her down. 


Sophia ran to the clown and hugged his loose yellow jeans. 


Ronald smiled and his demeanor was exactly like a clown's. 


"Welcome to McDonald's!"


"Yay!" 


Unfortunately, I don't have a camera to take pictures. I still need to talk to Penelope before buying a camera. Now that I think about it, maybe the camera can wait. Let's make more money before buying leisure stuff. 


'What? I'm a coward because I back down on my decision. Hey, do you know how expensive a camera is? Hah!? Of course I want to take pictures of my kids, that's why I want to make money quick.'


After talking to inner monologue, Sophia and Roman mingled with Ronald for a few seconds before leaving. Ronald the Clown had a job to do-- he has to give pamphlets to people. 


We entered the restaurant and sure enough, it was packed. Considering that it was Christmas Eve, a lot of families just like us were going out to spend the day before Christmas. 


Thankfully, we found a newly vacated table. 


"Stay here, I will order for you guys."


"Dad, I want a kiddie meal," Roman said. 


"Me too Jajjy!" 


"Aren't you two too old to order kiddie meals?" I joked. 


"Dad, you're not funny at all." 


They pouted. 


"Honey, just let the kids choose what they want.x


"Alright, kiddie meals for the kids. How about you, wife, what do you want?"


"I'm good with burger and fries, and choco sundae."


There was no Mcfloat in this era because only psychopaths would add ice cream on top of a soda. I don't even know why people like eating that shit. 


'Never a fan of Mcfloat, not gonna lie. They are disgusting as shit!'


The one who offered the idea of putting ice cream on a coke should go to hell. He or She definitely has a place in hell. 


I followed the shortest line of people who wanted to order. While in line, I looked at their menus and realized the kiddie meals that they were offering right now. 


"Wow, they are selling pokemons this time." 


I saw the pictures of the initial three pokemons of the Kanto region, which were Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. 


'Unfortunately, they don't have toys for girls...'


"Hello Sir, May I take your order."


The cashier asked me once I got to the front. 


"Can I have two sets of burgers and fries? And three kiddie meals?"


"Yes sir, that would be 318 pesos."


"Here." 


I gave her a 500 pesos bill. 


A few minutes later, my order arrived. 


When I returned to our table, the kids were already excited and hungry. They were smiling as I put the plates on the table. 


"Why are there three kiddie meals?" Penelope raised her brow and looked at me. 


"I want to eat another one but a small portion so I decided to order a kiddie meal."


"Is it not because you want a toy as well?" She asked with a playful gaze.


"Of course not." 


I lied as I breathe. Anyway, my wife just giggled and shook her head. 


Seeing the kiddie meal, Roman immediately opened the box and found a Bulbasaur.


"Nice." He grinned. 


As for Sophia, she was a bit skeptical when she realized that she got a Squirtle. 


"... I'll call you tuwtle from now on." She clearly didn't like the toy. 


"What about you Honey? Are you not going to open your kiddie meal?" 


My wife was teasing me... Anyway, I might as well open it. 


"You leave no choice, I really don't like these kinds of toys, but oh well."


"As if." She rolled her eyes. 


In the end, I got a Charmander. It needs to reach Level 36 before becoming a Charizard. 


'What? Wrong reference? I don't care.'
