Chapter 24

While the bus was staying in the terminal, there were vendors selling food that entered the bus. They had baskets on their arms, the baskets were filled with crackers, mineral water, and other products that passengers needed. 

"Peanuts! Coke! Corn! We have everything here!"

In my opinion, I respect the hustle. These people did their best to sell their products, carrying heavy baskets. They even go so far as to change their intonation to attract customers. 

"pEaNuTs~ Coooorrrrnnn~ Buy!!"

Even in another universe, the hustle never stops. 

The old bus terminals might be infested with these sellers that sell different things. Heck, I even saw a person selling a living baby chickling. 

"Hm..."

Sophia who was sleeping in my arms grumbled when the sellers started yelling. She weakly opened her eyes and rubbed her face. 

"Jajjy... I want to Cown."

"Okay, baby."

I pulled ten pesos from my wallet and asked the seller for corn. 

"Can I get a corn?"

"That would be 10 pesos, sir."

"Here."

"Thank you very much." 

The corn was warm, almost hot. 

"Princess, you have to be careful, don't eat it fast or you might get scalded."

I cut the corn into two and gave half to her. I know that Sophia could not eat whole corn, she didn't have the appetite nor the capability. Her stomach is still small. Her small hands grabbed it and munched on it. 

"Yes. Thank you Jajjy."

She smiled and nibbled it down.  

As for me, I decided to eat the other half. No one could finish it anyway. My wife didn't like eating when on the trip and Roman was suffering from motion sickness. 

A few minutes later, Penelope and Roman returned after taking a pee. Roman's complexion became better, he didn't look pale anymore. Furthermore, he was happily hugging a Gundam... Wait what? 

My eyes went to Penelope, I'm a little bit confused. 

"We found a store that sells toys. Since we promised the kids to buy them toys, I might as well buy them now."

I nodded. 

"Here's for Sophia."

"Yay!"

Penelope took out a barbie doll and gave it to Sophia. The little girl immediately regained her enthusiasm. Her sleepy face became lively as she hugged the barbie doll. The Barbie doll looked the same as what I bought last time except for her dress. As long as she was happy, I'm fine. 

"I wuv you, Mommy!"

"That's my princess."

Penelope grabbed Sophia from my arms and sat down. 

"You don't look tired but I know that Sophia is heavy, let's help each other, I will give her to you once I can't handle her."

She looked at me and explained. She knew the hardship of carrying Sophia, so she decided to ease my burden.

But to be honest, Sophia didn't affect me at all. Sure, she is heavy, but the Energy Pill that the system gave me is far outrageous. I feel like I can carry Sophia without getting tired. 

"Okay."

However, I accepted her goodwill. My wife really cares about me and Sophia. 

"Yay! Mommy I like you bwetter, Jajjy's beard twickles me!" 

"Fufu, is that so?"

"Yesh!"

Penelope giggled and pinched her cheeks. Sophia didn't bother and decided to check her new toy. 

Just like what they say, kids don't tell lies. And it hurts me to hear it from her. 

'Ugh!'

I swallowed a groan. My daughter is probably going to be a heartbreaker, she will break a lot of men's hearts. Behind her lovely face, dark energy resides.

Still, my daughter is cute. 

Kids prefer their mothers over their fathers, that was the usual situation. Penelope is a loving and caring mother, she is ready to sacrifice everything for our kids. I witness how she took care of our children. 

She deserves all of the love. In fact, it would be devastating if Sophia prefers me over her mother because, in my opinion, Penelope is the best. 

"Who's my cute daughter?"

"Me!"

"That's right."

I smiled as I look at my daughter and wife. They look alike. They resemble each other, except that Sophia inherited my deep blue eyes. 

"..."

Then, I looked down and looked at my son who was playing with his Gundam. He was fascinated by the weapons that the Gundam had. Guns, swords, a pair of wings, this gundam looks fucking great... I'm actually envious and recalled my childhood. 

'In the early 2000s, Gundams are more famous than Transformers. Perhaps the kids back then were heavily influenced by Gundam Wings and other Gundam Franchises.'

'I think Transformers became famous after the first live-action movie was released, which was around 2007.'

Ah, the good old days, when the internet still didn't affect children that much. I miss that era.

'Welp, I'm back to 1999 so I'm going to experience them again. Not as a kid, but as an adult. A father.' 

Fortunately, Penelope and Roman came back right before the driver took off. Our trip continued again but the kids were not bored anymore.

They were playing with their toys. They didn't care about the surrounding at all, too immersed in their worlds. 

"Do you think brother is already there?"

Sophia talked to me. 

"It's fine, I text your brother earlier and told him that we're still in Pampanga."

"I see."

Sophia has a lot of siblings and the one who's going to welcome us is her second brother, Simeon. My Brother-in-law has a tricycle and he can use it to take us to their village. 

I don't know if it's hard to find transportation in their place. 

I grabbed my wife's hand and squeezed it.

"I will text him again once we're there."

"Hm, thank you."

She leaned closer and kissed my cheek. 

'I knew it, all I have to do is make her happy and I can get a kiss.'

It took 8 hours for us to reach Pangasinan, and when we got to the province, it was already 3 PM. What greeted us was the endless plain of rice fields and corn fields.
