Chapter 22

Sophia became wide awake as she looked out of the window. She was mesmerized at the things that she was seeing. She was still a baby and unique things caught her interest.

"Wow! Mama, look! Biwg buildings! Tall! Big!"

She excitedly spread her arms, representing how big the buildings were outside. 

She thought our apartment building was already big, but the gigantic structures that she found were far bigger than the apartment. She felt that her understanding of the world widened. 

"Wow~ Bwother! Big faces!"

She said and pointed at billboards that had the faces of models. 

"Hm."

Roman nodded and looked around too. The kids never travel a long trip and seeing new scenes were making them excited. 

Unfortunately, the two kids immediately lost interest after seeing infrastructure after infrastructure. Then, they became bored and looked at their mother. 

"Mama, awe we thewre yet?"

Sophia asked. She didn't like to stay in the same position for a long time. She wanted to crawl and move around. But the bus is a different thing, we won't dare to let her on the floor. 

The bus will stop and move every other minute and it is dangerous for the kids. 

"Sweetheart, you don't have to worry. You just have to close your eyes for ten seconds and we will get there."

Penelope teased baby Sophia's nose. 

"Weally?"

"I'm speaking the truth."

It seemed that Sophia easily believed her mother. She closed her eyes and counted from 1 to 10. 

When she opened her eyes, she looked around. She was confused at first but she realized that her mother was playing with her. 

"Mama, bad."

"I didn't lie, you just have to count from 1 to 10 twenty times."

"Mama, I can't do it."

She pouted. 

"It's okay honey, you can do it once you grow older."

She stroked little Sophia's head and the baby nodded reluctantly. She felt bored and wanted to move around. 

"How about you sit with me, Sophia?"

I could see that my wife was uncomfortable because Sophia was flattening her legs with her weight. Our baby is getting heavy. 

"Un."

Sophia was bored anyway, so she decided to change location. 

"Are you sure you can do it? You are going to carry the bags later."

Penelope worriedly asked. 

"It's fine. I feel like I will never be tired. If you want, I can carry you too."

It's not a problem. Besides, I can touch her ass if I carry her...

"Humph! Arrogant."

We both laughed. 

However, I'm not joking. I can run around the whole day and I will not be tired. The Energy Pill gave me energy to stay strong the whole day. 

'This is a drug, made by the system. I believe there are no side effects, right?'

Who didn't like endless energy? 

Not me. 

Penelope put Sophia on me instead. My wife took a breather after having her daughter on her legs. Her legs were numb as she stretched them. She hissed after taking a nice stretch. Indeed, Sophia was getting heavier. 

"Jajjy, when will I see the sea?"

"Later sweetie, you will see the blue sea."

I appease her burning enthusiasm. My wife's province was Dagupan, Pangasinan and it was facing the sea. The main producer of milkfish in the region. 

My wife told stories about her hometown and Sophia was excited to see it. Unlike Roman who already visited the place, this was the first time that little Sophia would have a long trip. 

"But I want to see it now."

As expected of a child, she was acting like a spoiled brat and unreasonable. Kids are angels and devils at the same time, and it's hard to change my opinion. 

"Sophia, how about this, once we get there, I will buy you a toy. But you have to behave, can you promise daddy that will act nice?"

The best way to pacify a child is by giving her what she wants. In Sophia's situation, she wants dolls. 

"What do you think? You want toys right? I'm sure barbie needs a friend. What's the name of your new toy again?"

"Her name is Aria. She is a princess from a faraway land."

"I see. Then, Aria is definitely lonely because she needs a friend. Maybe you can help her."

"... Un. I want to give her fwiend Jajjy."

"Of course, my little princess is a good girl. But I can only give you another barbie doll if you behave, can you promise?"

If we are talking about money. I have 4 thousand pesos in my wallet and buying another toy is not a problem. 

As for the remaining 5 thousand, it's in the hands of my wife. We made sure to split the money in case a robbery happened. 

After what happened last month, where I almost lost my life in a car robbery, my wife and I became conscious of bad elements. It's better to be prepared than to lose all of the money. 

"Yes! I pwomise! I'll be a good girl."

"As expected of my little princess."

I patted her head and she giggled. She hugged me but her small arms could only hug my chest at most. 

Penelope glanced at me and nodded. It seemed that she liked the way I convinced our daughter to behave. 

"Yay! New toy."

"... What about me?"

Then, Roman joined in and looked at me. He was asking for another toy too. 

"If you behave just like your sister, then I will buy you a toy too."

"Okay."

A few hours later, I could feel that the kids are getting restless. 

Thankfully, whenever I sense that they are going to crack, I will use my weapon to calm them down. 

"Kids, remember, you can only have toys if you behave."

When I said that, the two kids immediately shut their mouths and persevered. They sit still, not making any noise. 

'Thank God...'

Unfortunately, a piercing cry disturbed my wife and I.
