RDD 21

Chapter 21

Because we easily fell asleep early after the 'exercise', my wife and I didn't have a problem waking up at 5 am. 

Of course, when we woke up, my wife giggled when she found that I was still wearing the condom that we used last night. 

The two of us used the bathroom at the same time to help us awaken our groggy bodies. We already saw each other's bodies, we almost know the nook and cranny of each other. So we did not feel embarrassed being naked. In fact, we even help each other to wash our backs. Bathing cold water is the best way to start the day, in my opinion.

What? Cold water is scary? Nah, we Filipino are already used to it. Hot shower is only for the weak and the rich...

When we came out of the bathroom, we feel refreshed and awakened. 

"I'll wake up the kids."

Lou said after she dressed up. 

"Then, I'll prepare breakfast."

There was leftover chicken last night and I can just reheat it. When my wife entered the kids' room, I recalled something. 

'Ah, I almost forgot. Let's try the 'Energy Pill' in the Shop. Maybe it can boost my energy.'

I thought and opened the System Shop. There was only one item that I can buy, which was Energy Pill. It only costs 1 point so I did not feel bad buying it.

Now that I know that I can get the mission every day, the 30-minute exercise, I'm confident that I can earn that 1 point back. 

I chuckled and clicked the buy button. 

A small pill materialized on my palm. It was a white pill, nothing strange about it. 

"I have to drink it, right?"

Since the system was meant to help me, I have to trust it. I believe that this pill will not endanger me, it will help me instead. 

I took a deep breath and put the pill in my mouth. With the help of a glass of water, I swallowed the pill. 

... And I feel nothing at all. 

"Is that it?"

Perhaps it doesn't effect quickly. Anyway, I don't have the time to dilly-dally, I have to prepare breakfast. 

When the kids left the room, breakfast was already prepared for them to eat. 

Unlike us adults, we won't force the kid to take a cold bath. Especially Sophia, we still washed her with warm water. 

"Let's eat first, then your mom will help you take a bath."

"Un..."

Roman nodded reluctantly. As for Sophia, she was still snoring in her mother's arms. She was half awake, I feel bad looking at my daughter. 

'Don't worry baby, this will not happen again. The circumstances are special this time and we have to wake up early to get to the province before the night. 

"Sweetie, come come, take a bite. You like chicken, right?"

Penelope was busy persuading baby Sophia to eat. Fortunately, Sophia still obeyed and chewed the food even though she was sleepy. 

Roman didn't need to be spoon-fed, he eat with his hands just like me. 

"You need to eat too."

I said to my wife and put a chicken wing on her plate. 

"Hm, I will feed Sophia first."

A few minutes later, all of us finished eating. My wife took the kids to the bathroom. We already boiled water for the kids to use. 

While they were taking a bath, I washed the dishes. 

"No~~ Mama~ cold~"

"Stay still sweetheart, you don't want Mama to be sad, right? Look at your big brother, he can wash on his own now."

"But bwother is big, I'm smwall~" 

I could hear Sophia's desperate cry. I chuckled and let their mother handle them. She is far better than me in that regard. 

The kids escaped the bathroom gritting their teeth and wrapped in towels.

'Kids, you will realize that you have it better once you grow older.'

Penelope led them to their room to wear their clothes. Since it was still cold outside, Penelope made sure that they wear jackets to protect their bodies.

"Phew."

"You did a great job."

I passed a mug of coffee to my exhausted wife. 

"Sophia is getting fiercer. She is unrestrained."

My wife mumbled after taking a sip.

"Waking them is tiring too. Roman grumbled that he wanted to sleep more."

She sighed. The kids are really troublesome, even a disciplined child like Roman was still having a problem waking up early. 

The kids were in good shape when we left the house, they were wrapped in clothes. My wife really made sure that they would be comfortable on this cold morning. 

"Are you sure you can carry them? You can ask me if you need my help."

"I'm fine."

'This is great...'

I thought as I carried the two bags. They were heavy, but I feel that my body can carry them all day long without getting tired. 

'Is this the power of the Energy Pill?'

I casually carried the two bags with no problem. In fact, I can carry another one if I want to.

Penelope was carrying baby Sophia. Roman was next to her,  following her. 

"Let's go."

It didn't take a long time for us to get into a jeep. Because it was still early, there was no traffic and the ride was smooth. 

We quickly reached the bus terminal. 

"You guys are going to Pangasinan? Good news, there is a bus going there."

A good man helped us lead the way and we found the bus. 

We entered the bus and thank God there were enough sits for all of us to sit. 

"Honey, how long do you think we will get there?"

"Best case scenario, we will get there before afternoon."

"I hope so."

There were three sits together. Roman was sitting in the middle while my wife was next to the window. As for Sophia, she was on her mother's lap, watching the scene out of the window.
