Chapter 2





There are unexpected things that can happen to a man. I can say that I'm facing one. I was shocked that my eyeballs almost drop off. 


"They want me dead? My descendant caused a world's destruction?"


I have enough idea to understand what this Goddess said, but still, it was unbelievable. 


How can a simple guy like me who didn't have a high IQ have a descendant that will the world? 


"That's right. To be exact, your great great great great great granddaughter caused World War 4 to erupt."


"And it's a woman? She has guts, I can say. W- wait, what do you mean World War 4? So does that mean World War 3 happened? Who started it? Or what country started it?"


"No spoilers."


She put her index finger on her lips as she smiled teasingly.


"..."


This Goddess, she really knows how to irk someone.


"The hell?"


I don't know but I'm quite mad. I just realized that my death was predetermined and planned by these celestial beings, I have enough reason to be angry and lash at her. It was good that I still have my reasoning. 


My gaze traveled around the place, this galaxy-like place represents the truth that Earth was not the center of the universe. We are nothing but dust in the wind. 


"You don't want me to know what happened in World War 3, yet easily said that my descendant started World War 4. That's kinda unfair, you know."


"No spoilers."


"Okay fine. I guess you're not going to tell me more information about my descendant's crime, right?"


"Indeed, it's a top secret and I can only tell you this. We stopped the end of the world by making sure that your descendant will never be born. Your planet was never meant to end at that time and we are keeping the order of the universe."


The Goddess's voice was gentle and soothing. But in this atmosphere, it was a bit eerie. 


"But why me? Why do you have to kill me, why didn't you kill my great great grandchild instead? Why me specifically?"


"About that, we just decided it using lottery box and we pulled your name. You are the unlucky one."


You don't have to say it straight like that. It's painful to know that my life was gone just like that because these people draw my name. 


I sat down. At this moment, I don't know what to think anymore. This was depressing to be honest. 


So what am I going to do now?


"I can't return to Earth? I can't meet my family?"


"That's right. You're dead."


She replied casually. Perhaps she met many dead people and is already used to this. 


"You don't want me to reincarnate to a fantasy world to kill a Demon Lord?"


"It was never part of our intention. Besides, people like you are problematic and hard to control. You will make things worse if you reincarnated into a fantasy world. Most of you want to become an Emperor who will impregnate any woman as long as she's beautiful. You are a destructive bunch of dogs."


A pathetic laugh escaped from my mouth. It was better if I never know that my death was not planned by the Gods and Goddesses, at least my heart is at peace with that. 


"So what now?"


I stared at the unknown Goddess in front of me. 


Am I going to do just like that? So my life was going to end...


"Because you are killed by us even though your fate was not meant to end, we decided to give you another life instead."


I fucking knew it! You guys are just joking with me! Yay! 


Of course I will be happy to know that my life will not cease right now. It's enough to make me jump out of my somber. 


"Nice, where do you want me to go? I guess it's not a fantasy world, but perhaps sci-fi?"


"Alternate universe, we will send you to an alternate universe that is a close copy of your planet."


"Okay, I'm cool with that."


I'm not choosy. As if I have a choice anyway, these people are celestial beings that can end my life. I'm already satisfied that I can live once more.


Mom. Dad. I'm sorry if I died before I can keep my promise. I wish you the best and I hope you will move on after my death. I don't want to see you sad. 


Oh, and please make sure that the truck driver will rot in jail. I know that big trucks can have faulty breaks but I'm still mad that he kill me, even if it's an accident. 


"I have another person to meet so I have to end our conversation here. I hope you the best of your destiny."


Hm? Did I see it right? I think the Goddess smile. It's strange because I can't even identify her face.


"I don't have anything to say. You can take me there." 


"As you wish."


The Goddess nodded and immediately, my vision blackened and I fell into another darkness. 


Unlike earlier when I felt that my body was torn to pieces, I feel like I'm drowning this time.

It was strange yet familiar. I feel like my existence was slowly getting mixed up with another one. My memories were jumbled and I could not discern the real and fake. 


A scene about a woman... My heart aches when I think of her. 


Cute little hands clasping my finger, yet why do I feel like I'm having a heavy heart? 


A disappointed face of my father, I do feel strange seeing a man whom I never have a recollection of. 


I fell into another one's existence as I did my best to breathe air. My hands stretched out as I kicked my feet with all my strength. 


Then, suddenly, I saw another bright light engulfing me. 


I greeted the world with my wet face, crying and gasping like a newborn baby.
