"I feel like I made a mistake."

Berto narrowed his eyes and approached the ground where the lightning landed. Except for the burn marks of the lightning, Berto failed to see the person's mangled body.

He recalled the moment when the lightning hit the man. The man disappeared after being struck by lightning. 

"... You got to be kidding me."

He was dumbfounded when he realized what happened. 

Ohio was a fascinating place and it had miracles and calamities running over it. Berto could summon the legendary place and cast the wonders of Ohio. 

He used his 3rd Term Attribute to survive dangerous situations and defeat powerful enemies. 

In his lifetime, only a handful of people successfully survived the Wonder Of Ohio. And it seemed that the man earlier was one of them. 

"If I'm not wrong, the lightning teleported him and help him escape."

He frowned. This was actually the first time that his ability helped his enemy. This was quite a surprise even for him.

Well, he already let Puti escape so adding another one was not a problem. It was not part of his jurisdiction anyway, he was just helping the University for the last time. As for the consequences-- not his problem.

Perhaps lady luck was helping him because a survivor gladly showed up in front of him. 

The follower had a missing arm but he was still alive and kicking. It was enough for Berto. He kicked the man in the balls and the follower trembled and white bubbles escaped his mouth.

Calix screamed as he descended from the sky. Everything happened so fast that he was astonished and afraid at the same time. 

'I don't know what happened but I was struck by lightning and my vision changed.'

He realized that he was up in the sky and he was currently free-falling. In his opinion, his situation was worse than earlier. 

He didn't know how to fly!

"Damn it!"

Was he Lucky that he escaped the dangerous guy? Or was he unfortunate that he teleported into the sky? 

Once he landed on the ground, he would be nothing but a meat paste. He was not sure if his Luck could save him in this situation. 

"Nyah~ Papa I'm hungry."

Suddenly, Mera opened his eyes after an hour of slumber. The kitten was asking for food. 

"Mera, I think I can't feed you right now."

Calix hugged the kitten, protecting it from the fierce wind that was blowing against them. 

"Why?"

The small cat asked cutely, he was clueless that their lives might end. 

"Because we're going to fall."

"Why?"

"Because we're in the sky."

"Is that so Papa?"

The two were having a question-and-answer program in the sky. 

"Papa, will you feed me once we landed?"

"Mera I will feed you tuna, wagyu beef, and delicious sheep once we landed safely!"

He hoped. 

"Yay! I don't know what you're talking about Papa but they sound tasty!"

"Indeed... I wish I have a chance to eat them again."

Calix sighed. 

However, Calix was surprised when Mera started moving. 

"Mera what are you doing?"

He became worried and tried to stop the kitten.

"Papa, I will help you land. Please feed me once we landed!"

The small cat escaped his embrace and spread his wings.

Calix was shocked when he witnessed how Mera's wings enlarged and became two meters wide! 

"Are you Happy from Fairy Tail?"

"Who's that Papa?"

"Nevermind."

Mera attached himself to Calix's back and began flying. His wings were enough to glide in the sky and assure a safe landing. 

However, the crisis was still not over. 

Because they were in the sky, the flying Aberrants could freely see them. 

"Mera, just keep descending. Watch how your Papa kill these filthy monster!"

"Papa so cool!"

Calix started his battle in the sky. The monsters that tried to get closer turned into beehives after receiving hundreds of bullets. 

"Woah! Papa, you are killing them!"

Mera was amazed as he witnessed Calix's massacre. 

"I'm great dad, am I?"

"Yes, Papa!"

His parental guidance was quite demoralizing in my opinion. Mera, such an innocent child, was being influenced by Calix's behavior. A bad one at that. 

"Kill them all Papa!"

"Muhahahaha!"

The father and son were having a good time in the sky. Calix had already forgotten that he was afraid earlier when he thought that he was going to die. 

"Papa I'm going to land."

"Thank you, Mera. I will make sure that you will have a great meal later!"

Mera safely landed on the street. He yawned and closed his eyes again. The calico cat spent a great amount of energy and he had to rest. 

Calix rubbed Mera's face and gently put him on his shoulder where the cat could balance himself while sleeping. 

The University was still having a problem but most of the monsters were already dead. The University was heavily protected and it won't easily fall. 

However, Calix didn't care about the University at all.

'I have to find Lou.'

He immediately ran into the place where he and Lou parted. With his Battlesuit, he quickly reached the place.

'Thank God...'

His eyes slowly teared up when he found Lou waiting for him. The woman looked distressed and haggard. Her dress was dirty. She kept looking around, hoping that she would find Calix. Her eyes were already red and at any moment she might break. 

"Lou!"

Calix raised his voice and the woman flinched. She turned to him and her face changed from anxiety, fear, and hope to joy. 

"Calix!!"

She could not hold her tears anymore. She ran toward him, she didn't care about her appearance. 

"Calix!"

Her body instinctively embraced the man in front of her. Then, she deeply cried. She thought she lost Calix forever. 

She kept saying his name, fearing that she was just dreaming. Her face looked nothing but beautiful. Dirt and tears covered most of her face, but that did not matter. She was just happy to see Calix again. 

"Hush, I'm here. I will never leave you again."

He assured the crying lady.
