Capitulo 123

Because of Lackfresia's constant barrage of bullets, the Higante slowly turned into a beehive. The giant did its best to heal the wounds but another set of bullets would penetrate its skin till it bleed again.

Lackfresia's bullets were not that strong but if you receive hundreds of bullets despite being 200+ meters tall, it would still be painful.

Well, despite Lackfresia keeping her distance, the Higante used its red beam to attack her. Yet, it seemed like Lackfresia had the Skill to defend against him.

She activated her Skill and her movements became faster. Because of this, she easily evaded the red beam that the Higante shot. She smirked and showered the monster with bullets instead.

The Higante roared and tried to attack again by throwing concrete debris at her. But the Higante's remaining hand was sliced off by a golden sword. Joseph was there to fuck it up. Of course, because Joseph was the only one who could truly damage it.

Lackfresia's bullets were like ants, not deadly but quite painful. However, Joseph's golden sword was sharp and powerful. It could damage the monster in just a few swings. His razor-like Aura was tearing its flesh till everything was sliced.

The monster made a roaring cry, a really great amount of blood poured down together with its hand. It was obviously painful.

Because of this, the Higante further became furious. It screamed so loud that people kilometers away from the Rift heard it. They closed their ears as the scream almost damage their eardrums. Even the glasses of the surrounding buildings cracked and fell to the ground, which caused new injuries.

"Joseph!"

"I know."

Lackfresia yelled because she sensed that the Higante was ready to self-destruct at any moment. This means that the whole York New City would eradicate. Even God-Class like them would have a hard time surviving in that.

"This Higante is so huge that it's hard to locate its N-core."

Joseph started running up to the monster. Now that it didn't have its two hands, it would be easier to reach its chest, where the N-core resided in.

Lackfresia assisted him by damaging the monster's eyes. As she witnessed the right hand of the monster was regenerating, Lackfresia cast her most damaging Skill and burned the regenerating hand. She was not stupid to play with this moment, not when the York New was at stake.

Joseph felt her determination and he sprinted to reach the monster's chest. He didn't have a choice but to do this instead.

"I'm not good in locating, especially when it's inside a huge monster like this… So I'll gladly burn the cover!"

The Higante felt that its life was going to be extinguished, it tried to do a last struggle but a white pillar of light punctured its neck.

Kilometers away from the battle, Somatorio fire his last shot in this battle.

"I gave you the best opportunity."

He said and Joseph read his lip movement. So he grinned and cast his strongest Skill.

" Excalibur!!!"

Just like how Saber of Fate Stay Night used the legendary sword to obliterate her enemy, Joseph used the same Skill and destroyed the shit out of the monster!

Pure golden light covered the whole city, people witnessed a huge sword-like gleam for a second before everything turned to normal. For a moment, people were stupified that their mouths were wide open. They saw something outrageous.

The huge silhouette of a monster had a hole in its chest as if it was struck by a laser beam. The hole was big that the people could see the other side. They gulped and no one speak at all. Until one guy started screaming and celebrating.

"The Higante has been defeated!!!"

"The Higante's dead!!"

They screamed at the top of their lungs. The Nightbreakers who were starting to lose their hope became enthusiastic. They made a celebratory roar and almost all of the people in the city joined in. It was so loud that the place trembled because of their voices combined.

"Look! The Rift is getting smaller!!"

The civilians looked up and found that the Rift lost its original size, now only 1/4 was remaining in the Rift. This caused more screams and jumping.

Of course, the people still didn't forget that there were still Nightmares lingering around. But since the strongest monster was already dead, the fishbone that was stuck in their throats disappeared well. With this, the Nightbreakers didn't have to be afraid anymore.

"Phew, I guess it's over."

Jeanne wiped her sweat, she was breathing hard and her dress was torn down. She had wounds over her body but she was fine, in her opinion.

She was stepping on the dead body of a DemiGod Veloce.

"I guess it's been four decades since the last time I fought like this. Well, it's not bad."

She said and gulped down the Elixir, she replenished her energy and her wounds started healing. Because she experienced this kind of situation a hundred times, her concentration didn't falter.

Just as she turned around, she found that a person was waiting for her.

"Oh, look at this, isn't it a coincidence?"

She smiled and greeted him.

"Jeanne..."

"Hello brother, it seems like the explosion brought you here."

Releasing a powerful Skill like that had recoil, of course, so Joseph flew across the place and landed close to Jeanne. Although he didn't receive damage because he used his Aura as a defense.

"When are you going to return? I have a proposition for you."

Joseph asked.

"Brother, if your thinking of partnering me with DemiGod, then I'm sorry to say this but I'm already retired. I don't want to return."

"It's a woman."

"So what? Even if it's a man or a woman, my memories about him will never be erased. Besides, I'm already tired of this endless war."

Joseph tilted his head. He didn't know what she meant.

Joseph turned around and found a young woman who had blue eyes just like him. They resembled each other, however, Joseph just tilted his head and asked Jeanne.
