Capitulo 114

Keenan groaned as he opened his eyes, even opening his eyes was painful. He slowly sat up and grunted when he realized that one of his legs was flattened by the huge concrete.

"Shit, now that explains why it fucking hurts... Ack!!"

He gritted his teeth as his saliva dripped down. It was painful, really painful. Keenan took a deep breath and cast his Hands.

Two of his Hands were in tatters but the other two were still fine, fortunately. Keenan pushed the concrete up, his Hands had enough strength to carry it. When he successfully escaped the concrete, he pulled an Elixir from his space ring. It was good that he didn't lose his fingers, or else his two space rings that were worth millions were going to go bye-bye.

He focused the energy and his injuries slowly healed, his leg regenerated just like his two other Hands. Keenan slowly stood up and checked the surrounding. The dust was everywhere and he was having a hard time seeing. Yet, the screams and clashes of the creatures were still ongoing.

He ducked when a rumbling sound echoed, he looked at the sky. The two colors of red and white beams kept confronting each other. It was a blur but the colors and aftershocks were enough to review his mind.

Keenan tried to recall what happened. Fantasia was almost swallowed by the beam, but Keenan did his best to pull her out. However, because of the explosion, the two separated. Keenan remembered that Fantasia and Suzy were thrown together while he was yeeted in the other direction.

"Kuck..."

He took a step but his leg ached, it seemed like the process of healing was still not completed. But Keenan didn't have time to dilly dally so he continued walking despite being in pain. On the way, a few monsters showed up and attacked him, Keenan already predicted their movements and their organs exploded before they could even reach him. Keenan used his undetectable Hands to pass through their bodies and destroy their organs, he didn't bother taking their N-cores, it was stupid.

While he was walking, he started to see that dead bodies were all around. His breathing started to get heavy because of the dust.

Then, he stumbled upon the small mountain of bodies. Keenan's eyes slowly dilated as he looked around.

"No... No no no, please tell me you're lying... No..."

His face became pale, he almost lost his reasoning. He felt like his life was sucked away from his body. His hands trembled in anger. He recognized one of the dead bodies. It was...

"Leila!!!"

Keenan ran despite having injuries. He kneeled and stared at her, his face contorted as he realized that her lower body was missing.

"Leila!!"

He yelled and checked her body, he didn't hesitate to pull another precious Elixir out of his space ring.

"... Kee... nan..."

A soft weak voice entered his ears and Keenan immediately looked at her. He was happy that Leila was still alive.

"Don't worry, you will live. Trust me!"

He said ad uncorked the Elixir. However, Leila shook her head and smiled instead, her lips were already pale and she knew that she was going to die.

"It's futile... I can't control the energy even if you gave me the Elixir... just keep it to yourself..."

Her breathing got weaker. Regeneration using Elixir needs concentration and Leila didn't have the energy to do that. She lost a great amount of blood and even her mind was getting blurry, she couldn't concentrate anymore.

Keenan knew that fact, he gritted his teeth as blood slowly crept out of his mouth, he was frustrated. Keenan grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

"Keenan... I... lov..."

Leila lost her life, she couldn't say the one thing that she wanted to say since the first time she met Keenan. She didn't finish reciting the magical three words of confession.

Keenan wanted to scream, he swallowed his frustration and clutched his tattered graduation uniform. It was ironic that they were just celebrating earlier because of it yet everything turned to dust when the Rift Distortion appeared.

Keenan found something shining around Leila's neck. He leaned over her, he kissed her still hot lips, then he pulled her dog tag. That was the best he could do right now.

Keenan swallowed the saliva stuck in his throat, he didn't forget that he still have to look for Suzy and Fantasia. He weakly stood. He didn't have the time to mourn for Leila, sadly yet it was the truth.

He started walking ahead, as he trudged the dust-covered place, he found a buff Forza. It was eating a lower body, munching it like a burger, it was a lower body of a woman. One of the legs was already eaten but the slenderness was easy to discern.

"I see... So it was you."

Keenan's eyes turned red because of hatred, he was fucking angry. His left hand granulated and transformed into a blade.

"Do you know that Leila plans to help her parents in their pharmacy business? She is a sweet girl who has an innocent dream... Yet you stole that from her!!!"

Keenan roared and rushed towards the Forza. The Forza anticipated his movement but he was caught off guard when two pairs of invisible Hands pulled his limbs apart. He cried out loud but a silhouette appeared and stabbed him. Keenan stared at the monster eye to eye, he snapped his fingers and the monster received damage. Yet, Keenan didn't stop at that. He continued slashing and snapping his fingers. The monster slowly lost its life as its body was covered with slashes.

"... Hehehahahahahaha!!!"

It was funny. It was funny that Keenan could easily kill a Class-S right now. As if he became stronger, yet he couldn't protect the people around him. This Forza killed Leila but Keenan just spent half a minute to kill it. Life was so unfair. Sometimes Keenan was asking himself why is that.
