Capitulo 113

"Sir we detected a great phenomenon in the York New!"

"What is it this time?"

The chief executive almost pulled all of his hair because of frustration. All of the people inside the vast room were staring at the screen where a giant silhouette of a creature was creeping its head out of the Rift. The size was almost twice the size of the Rift, it was terrifying to imagine how much destruction it could bring.

All of them started doing their job faster than they ever could. They contacted everyone they could just to stop the upcoming monster.

Fantasia and Jeanne continued running away. On their way, they found that monsters slowly blocked their path. They saw some people being eaten alive by the ravenous Nightmares.

Suzy covered her ears, she didn't want to hear it. Or else she would lose her mind. She was amazed how Fantasia could maintain her movement in the middle of this crisis.

Fantasia, who had her hair tied in a ponytail, slashed a Zviera that came right in front of her. The monster turned into two pieces of ice.

As for Jeanne, she just kicked the monsters that blocked her way. She mostly covered Fantasia for stronger monsters. In this Nightmares infested place, there was a strong chance that tough monsters might appear out of nowhere. Jeanne only used her broken sword whenever she needed to.

This sword is a precious item, she could only use it a limited number of times. Just like the usual Artifacts. This broken sword was from a God-Class so its effects were surely strong. It could become a game-changer. But Jeanne had her own reasons. So she had a spare Artifact to use against the monsters.

While they were dashing, Jeanne felt something dangerous and she immediately yelled at Fantasia who was caught in the middle of the two Zviera.

"Fantasia!"

Fantasia heard her but her senses couldn't keep up. Thankfully, Keenan's other pair of Hands save her.

[Kahaak!]

Keenan grunted because his Hands were injured again. This was the second time. Usually, his Hands could defend against monsters from Class-SS. This means only one thing.

A flash movement almost killed Fantasia. If not because of Keenan, she was already dead.

"Thank you."

[You better treat me to a royal buffet after this!]

"I will."

It seemed like Keenan was fine because he could still make a joke.

"Escape this place, I will handle this monster and regroup with you."

Jeanne said to Fantasia.

"But Aunt -"

"Go, I will not die. I'm stronger than you ever thought of."

Jeanne smirked and urged her to leave. Fantasia bit her lip and ran away in the end. She hated to admit it but she would only drag her down if she stayed.

"Keenan, do you the cultivation of the Veloce?"

Fantasia murmured. She only knew one species that could move fast like that.

[You don't have to worry, Jeanne will regroup with us.]

Keenan tightened his grip around Suzy, he didn't show it but he was actually anxious. Jeanne was going to fight a DemiGod Veloce without having an Arma. It was suicidal.

Arma and Bestia were always, and always, the main source of power to fight Nightmares. Only small minorities, who had a powerful innate ability, could kill a DemiGod with help from an Arma or Bestia. And Jeanne didn't have that much ability.

She had this unknown broken sword in her sleeve but at the end of the day, it was just an Artifact that has a limited number of usages. Jeanne could manipulate her Aura, it had the characteristics of sharpness. She could turn a normal wood into a fine sword if she used her Aura, but DemiGod was different and difficult to kill.

Keenan didn't speak and just focus his senses around. All he could do was trust Jeanne.

It was fortunate that he had the foresight of a second. Or else he won't see that quick attack last time.

Keenan understood that his two Hands were out of commission. As for his other two, they were busy covering Suzy. He couldn't return to normal in this current situation and drink Elixir, it was ridiculous. He couldn't help Fantasia unless he would use that…

However, Keenan detected something horrendous. He foresight that everything turned red, his senses were telling him to run.

[Fantasia--!!!]

Keenan tried to warn her but it was already late. Despite knowing a second of the future, Keenan didn't have enough time to evade the attack. Not when it was so wide.

A blood-like beam burned the whole place, it came from the Rift. Fantasia screamed but she lost her voice, or to be precise, her voice was overlapped by the thundering crash. It was futile.

The red beam traveled ahead and the buildings around crumbled. Thousands probably died. Everything that happened after that was unclear. All they remembered was that the red beam flashed and the whole place was destroyed.

Thankfully, the red beam shortly ended than normal. Somatorio prevented the beam from further destroying the place.

"I see, so that's his ability…"

Somatario was panting so hard, his back was sweating. He was surprised that this gigantic creature could shoot a beam using its mouth.

[That explains the red-like beam tattoo on its face.]

Terrence added, he was tired too.

Somatorio deflected the beam and it was equalized and both the red beam and his shot went to the sky. That was the best he could do to change its direction.

Just imagine Godzilla's nuclear beam that could destroy a city. This Higante Kakaiba had the exact power. The monster could release a red beam using its mouth.

[Hey, Somatorio!!! It seems like this monster is recharging its power! It will shoot another red beam!!!]

Terrence yelled.

"I know!!"

Somatorio replied.

"This is the reason I retired. It's exhausting to work like this!"

[You're damn right!]

Somatorio aimed his charge rifle at the monster. If the monster was charging its red beam, then Somatorio was doing the same too.

A few minutes later, two powerful lights shoot at each other, one red and the other was white. The surrounding areas felt the aftershocks, the already destroyed city was further destroyed. Yet this battle was just getting started. The whole place was blinded by a bright mix of white and red light and all of the creatures cower.
