Capitulo 110

It was a frightening hell. It was unimaginable how the sky turned into two by the unnatural force. It was definitely out of this world, no common sense could explain it.

However, the scientists had an explanation about it.

It said that the two worlds were connected by a thread, this thread was the reason why people of Thera could travel to the Netherworld. And since this thread connects both planets, this means that the creatures of the Netherworld could enter the Thera too. This explains the phenomenon of Rift Distortion. A normal occurrence because of the connection between the two planets.

Unfortunately, it was a natural disaster so it was impossible to prevent it. They could only minimize the damage. So far, almost every week, Thera would experience Rift Distortion around the world. It was unavoidable.

Rift Distortion may be frequent but most of it was small and only weak monsters average around Class-A would dare to enter the Thera.

But sometimes, powerful monsters would use the Rift Distortion to cause havoc on the planet. Just like what happened in the Vadane, Ricaame where a God-Class Furfante and hundreds of thousands of ferocious Nightmares killed 97% of the region's population. It was horrible history and even now, the traces of battle was still engraved on that said place.

And now, another tragedy would happen right before their eyes. The ripped sky started pouring creatures down to the city of York New.

People were petrified, their feet couldn't move no matter how much they scream, they were swallowed by fear. The word 'nightmare' was the best term to describe the whole situation.

The Nightmares brought nightmares, truly befitting of their species' name.

It was raining of monsters, almost as if the sky was blocked by them. An endless number of monsters fall to the ground and people shrieked as they felt that this was the end of the world.

Some of the Nightmares died because of the fall but most survived and they recovered immediately, especially when food was right before them.

The monsters who realized that delicious meats were all around started hurrying towards them.

Jeanne cracked the bottle in her hand, her eyes regained focus. She directly looked at the Rift, it was so big.

"Higante can fit into that Rift…"

That was bad. Higante was the most destructive species of the Nightmares. Everywhere they go, the land would always flatten. The simple fact that their minimum size was 50 meters means destruction, their size alone could topple cities.

And yet this Rift was wide enough to accommodate them. It was the right door for them.

"… Just like I thought, they are here."

She saw five pairs of huge hands sticking out of the Rift. Then, gigantic figures escaped the Ride and free-fall into the ground, the Higante roared and looked down at the city as if they found a great playground to play on. Their sizes differ but it was apparent that the damage that would happen because of the fall would be massive.

The sky further turned dark. People started running away, they were not stupid enough to stay still and get flattened by the fall.

Jeanne clicked her tongue. This was the day for her niece to celebrate her graduation yet these fuckface disturbed the fun. The worst was that even Jeanne couldn't stop them. Not when she didn't even have a proper Arma. She glanced at Keenan and Fantasia who ran towards her and Suzy. The other students started running away too. Some Unionized and activated their Skills. Bestia who could fly were all around the sky, trying their best to escape.

Keenan and Fantasia immediately understood the danger. The best way to survive this predicament was by sticking close to Jeanne.

"Get behind me!"

Jeanne yelled as she released her Aura, she had to protect them from the incoming fall. Keenan and Fantasia reached her in just a second. Keenan didn't think twice, he grabbed Suzy who was pale and motionless, and Fantasia who was so tense, then he used his Hands to minimize the damage. He took out the Artifact and activated the barrier.

He specifically covered Fantasia and Suzy from the incoming impact!!!

A powerful collision wrecked the city and a deafening impact shook them. It was only four Higante but it was enough to destroy the whole place, dust flew around and the buildings fell apart. That fact was frightening to comprehend. York New City housed millions of people, less than half of this population was killed by that fall alone.

Dozens of seconds later, the sounds of cries and people begging for help echoed around. It was truly indescribable, the feeling of defeat set upon them.

Keenan opened his eyes, he was biting his lip so hard and blood crept out. He was in pain, his Hands were minced like fresh meat. It seemed like the barrier and his Hands were not enough to block the impact. He almost faint because of the excruciating pain that was attacking him. But he persevered and maintain his Hands around Fantasia and Susy. To make the matter worst, the impact they received was not even the true power.

Jeanne took almost all of the damage, she shielded them from the impact. Keenan glanced at Suzy and Fantasia. Thank God, they were not hurt. He prioritized their protection after all.

He released his tattered Hands, they were broken and two were awfully shredded. Keenan was panting and bucket of sweat rolled down his face. That one minute was the hardest part of his life. Not even his past life could beat it.

"Are y'all okay?"

Jeanne turned around, she have a bruise on her head and her head was bleeding. Because she was a God-Class, her body was tough and she endured the impact with only a bruise.

Still, the fact that she was injured meant a lot. She was still activating her Aura yet she was damaged.

Jeanne glared at the Higante, they were a threat. Their presence means death. At this moment, Jeanne felt sad that she didn't have her Arma.

She used to kill these monsters like a game. This was the difference between having an Arma and not having an Arma.

To further lose their sanity, the four Higante was just the first batch. Another group of Higante was going to enter the Rift. And to make their sanity lose faster, the average Class of these Higante was Class-SS, which meant that they could release Aura. Imagine a giant creature having an Aura?
