Fantasia agreed and threw the ice-like crystal to Keenan. Keenan caught the N-core, he felt the shivering ice while touching it. This effect was enough to establish that this N-core was a Kakaiba. Only Kakaiba N-cores had these unique colors and effects.

They were in the training ground to make sure that they had enough space in case something bad happened. Then, Jeanne was a few meters away, she would stop the absorption if Keenan was in danger.

Just like always, she was drinking alcohol. It was already part of her character, to be a drunkard. She said that Keenan had a strong chance to absorb the Kakaiba although it won't be easy. Sometimes, Kakaiba would act up and protest the absorption.

Well, Keenan knew that but he was confident in his skills. His focus was on far with the Gods.

Then, without further ado, Keenan swallowed the N-core.

He only realized his mistake when he consumed the Kakaiba. Apparently, his body would be covered by ice, and a powerful chill of coldness would penetrate his body.

He could weaken the cold if he stopped consuming the Kakaiba to get the power, but this whole process would be useless if he stopped acquiring the power. On top of that, he could only eat the Kakaiba once, if he failed and stop, then he would lose the chance to gain the Kakaiba power. Actually, he thought he was going to die.

But since Keenan was the protagonist of this story, he won't easily die, unless the author concurred.

The ice started to gather around his body and even the training ground was caught in a small blizzard.

On the other hand, Jeanne just chuckled. This effect means that Keenan succeeded in absorbing one hundred percent of the Kakaiba, it was the aftermath. She raised her bottle and gulped down the contents. It seemed like her job was done here. In the first place, her presence was not needed.

Fantasia gulped as she looked around the place, everything was covered with ice. She turned to Keenan who was shivering, Fantasia was acting tough but she was actually anxious.

Keenan chuckled as he show the majestic scene. He thought he was going to fail because the Kakaiba almost turned him into a block of ice. At first, he thought it was going to be easy because he consumed hundreds of N-cores without problems.

In the end, he was covered with ice when the absorption ended. He was shivering. Now he realized the danger of consuming Kakaiba especially when he targeted to acquire the power.

He sighed in relief, then, he glanced at Fantasia.

"I did it."

She smiled and hugged him tightly, this bastard needed warmth. Even now, Keenan was shivering and his teeth clattered.

"Yeah, you did it."

"Hehe!"

Keenan tapped her back before succumbing to sleep. He absorbed the Kakaiba 100 percent and he acquired its power. This means that Keenan had a new Skill and it was definitely related to ice. To be precise, his Katana gained a new ability, or it would be better to call it an item?

Not only that, Keenan advanced his Hekatonkheires into Class-B. Because of the daily amount of N-cores that he was taking, his cultivation was much faster. To be honest, it would take three to four months to reach Class-B but the Kakaiba pushed his cultivation so he became Class-B in one sitting. Of course, he was a hell of a tired because of it.

This concluded Keenan's talent regarding consuming N-cores. His capacity to eat N-cores was far enormous than the average, this was his advantage over the others. And this would cause Fantasia to advance faster too. After all, Handler was the entity that would adapt together with its Arma/Bestia to control it.

If the Arma became stronger, the Handler would become stronger too. They were connected by the Resonance. Although it had some factors too, such as the Handler being weak and couldn't keep up with the cultivation of its Arma, just like Yua and Charla. Charla was a talented Arma but Yua was mediocre so their cultivation was much slower.

But in Fantasia's case, she had enough talent and motivation to keep up with Keenan. As long as she had an arm to swing a sword, her advancement would never stop.

Because Keenan succeeded in gaining a new Skill, Fantasia decided to rest for two weeks. It was best to celebrate since Keenan gained a new ability, this ability would empower Fantasia too because she was the Handler. She gave Keenan a raise and bonus and the young man didn't hesitate to take the money, he was grinning while looking at the numbers of his bank account.

"Anyway, are you sure you want to take two weeks' rest? I thought you want to reach Class-S faster."

Keenan said. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and he was waiting in line together with Fantasia.

"It's fine. I don't want to do the same mistake last time. I want to adopt the ideology of 'work hard, play hard."

"Okay if that's what you want. Besides, I want to watch the tournament too, so thank you for buying a ticket for me."

Keenan and Fantasia were waiting in line to enter the largest colosseum in their country, Ricaame. This was the place where the National Academy Tournament was currently happening. It was time for the semi-finals and they still have the chance to enjoy watching.
