All-Patron Poll! Do you like Discord? [Ending soon]

***Ends in a day! Less than half of folks have voted, so if you haven't voted and can spare a moment, I'd love your voted opinion!!!***

Hey y'all!

I've got no plans for any major changes at the moment, but I am curious about what folks think of getting their patreon content on discord? I've seen a lot of other users do it this way, and I've wondered if it's easier folks to have content posted there.

Submit your honest answer below!

I would very much prefer not having to install another app.

TW

I was about to say I don't care, but then I opened up the Patreon app and remembered how much it honestly sucks, at least on my phone. Stuff takes forever to load half the time, when it's working at all. So I think it'd be really nice to be able to view the content on Discord. Maybe even have different channels for different categories/comics, etc

Just as a remark, if you do put stuff on discord I'd recommend cross-posting. IME I've seen them do some things with ToS that weren't immediately clear. Also they tend to go down once every few weeks or so. Just saying don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I'm not a big fan of discord, but I do have it and if need be I'm ok with getting content on discord. Strong preference for Pateon though ^^

To be hinest. I have Discord, but never liked it. However I have no problem, if Patreon stuff get here, if I already use Discord.

Initially I was like "Uh, one more thing to make my Discord go 'pling'" but over the last weeks multiple people have moved to posting on Discord and after getting used to it I I now prefer that way much over postings directly here on Patreon for the following reasons: - Easier to navigate (Patreon page / app often confuse me) - Immediately visible who has published new posts (in contrast to going through the feed on Patreon where everyone is mixed or having to click to every Membership one by one with now way so see who has posted something new since the last visit) - way better for archive purposes (scrolling way back in Patreon or trying to find something specific on here is a mayor pain in the rear, as there is not only no search and the tagging / filter system is basic at best but the site slows to a crawl once you have scrolled back two or three month, Discord has a search and more importantly allows fast and performant scrolling back in time) - not having to worry about artist getting thrown off the platform (or at least much less, since this so far has not been "Discord's style")

I have no doubt I'm in the minority... but I've really gotten disillusioned with centralized social media. Google Chat/Talk/Hang kept changing/disappearing, twitter is now perpetually on fire, and reddit is probably selling out (to just name a few). I hope discord remains a good platform for a while, and since many of my friends are there I check in every once in a while, but I'll happily stay in my tech hipster corner with IRC, Mastadon, and Matrix. (Sorry I know that no one asked for that take XD).

If for no other reason, discord is a viable option to avoid issues like you had earlier this year regarding content (your May 16th post). I personally have no preference.

Discord has been good for a number of things. It's easier to find art, and have it categorized by type/content. I greatly enjoy that I can easily find stream schedules, times and openings, commission opening reminders and dates, and other useful information. I know it hasn't been as 'social', but most of us get our social interaction with other community members through the Telegram group, so it's hard for Discord to take that up. But as a content hosting system, and as an informational announcement center, I've definitely liked it as lot more than Patreon-only.

Discord is nice to have it as a “gallery” type thing to easily organize all your stuff. Other than that I’m pretty sideways on it. Some peep’s might like it to chat and stuff ngl
