I've decided I'll let Patreon have my season 3 Deepdives a little early on the $3 tier!

I haven't finished anything yet but I've set a tentative hope that I'll have the first draft of episode 1 done very soon. I will not be sharing that here, I always have to do about 4-10 versions before an episode is ready to publish both because I keep finding more stuff to fix and because Youtube's copyright system tends to randomly get stuck on any clip longer than 7 seconds, music, or even sometimes clips shorter than 7 seconds that have other stuff between them. I always send the versions that pass the copyright test to quote voiceover guy Merrick and he usually spots an embarrassing amount of typos and other editing errors I've become blind to.

This time I want to be a little bit ahead of my upload schedule. I don't think I could finish an episode per week just in time to publish by Saturday this time around, especially since uploading all 8 episodes will naturally take 8 weeks and I'll be at a wedding one weekend in August and the next week I'll be in Spain. I won't be able to edit at all then, so I need to be prepared in advance. So, I've come to the conclusion that when I get an episode ready and unlisted on Youtube, I'll share it here for the $3 Reaction tier. I won't have any set schedule for that (and I do still have to let them sit for a day before sharing just to make sure I don't get a late surprise copyright issue) but you should be a couple of episodes ahead in some way.

I'll be taking advantage of you a little bit though since if you spot any more mistakes I will still have time to fix it and upload a new version (though when I'm 7 versions deep and there's like 2 or 3 typos I honestly cannot be bothered anymore and tend to leave them in unless they're in someone's username). I would have tried to be a bit ahead of uploads with finished episodes regardless, but I hope this will make the Patreon feel a bit more worthwhile for all of you on the higher tier since I haven't been offering you any new content for so long but so many of you have stayed on it anyways. (Thank you for the support, it means a lot to me!)

I'm really scared to say anything about when I'll finish these definitively, partly because I don't know how to estimate the amount of work left and partly because I've been working on these so long that I honestly have a hard time even conceptualizing being finished. BUT now I think I can say I'm actually close to the finish line. I have no idea if these videos are going to be as good as the ones before, but I do know for certain they have a LOT of stuff in them. The episodes are mostly at somewhat similar levels of completedness, but I only have Merrick's voice recordings for the quotes for the first 4 episodes at this moment so that is a variable outside of my control, but I'm sure we'll manage to get the rest done in time. I'm not paying him anything for doing this, he's just helping me purely as a passion project, and I've given him a huge amount to do this time around. Thankfully episode 4 had the most material so it should be easier after that one.

I just thought I'd give you a heads up to give you an idea that this is coming rather than just dropping the first early episode when I get it ready to go. I'm way too hesitant to give specific dates as deadlines here but this post is a promise that I'm committed now and it's getting close. I'm going to edit the $3 tier description text to include the early episodes now as well, and I'll include info at the end of the first episode so people will know that the Patreon is ahead when we get to publishing times. (I'm actually a bit terrified of posting again, it's been so long!! 😅)
