Added 2020-03-16 18:06:04 +0000 UTCI've always struggled to put ideas onto paper, to the point it would sometimes kill my mood to draw. Id start with something and id finish with something almost unrelated just cause i couldn't put the pose from my mind onto paper. That's how my last piece went, i started that kissshot fanart, and spent 3 days trying to get the pose right. 3d models, refs, nothing helped, i just wasn't feeling it.
I watched some videos on figure drawing and a lot of people have a sculpting approach to it. Instead of doing the standard sketch, gesture, ect, you just dab shapes and almost carve the form bit by bit.
I tried it and loved it, with literally 0 frustration i made the pose i was trying to nail for the past three days, did some other stuff too.
