Morning all! Some of you will have seen my Instagram post last week - here's the little accompanying video.
A few months ago a young lad from my running club called Luke, who had only taken up running 2 years prior, decided he was going to run 4000km from the northern most tip of Norway all the way to London - something that had never been done before.
His friends and family all thought he'd gone mad, but he went anyway.
We all followed his journey on Strava as he regularly smashed out 35 mile days in true Russ Cook fashion, and despite a few logistical nightmares he slowly but surely eeked his way down Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and finally into England.
In this video I attempt firstly to get myself across London and successfully intercept Luke somewhere on the outskirts, before joining him for his final half marathon, hopefully seeing him through to his Trafalgar Square finish line where his friends, family and a few treats await.
Despite Luke having already ran well over a marathon when i intercepted him, I almost definitely slowed him down.
Luke's heroics have already raised £10,095 for kid's village but he'd be delighted with a couple more donations just in case any of you would like to chip in:
https://givestar.io/gs/luke-bellingham--norway-to-london-run
"Kids' Village is building the UK's first respite holiday village just for children with critical illnesses and their families. A place where they can be themselves again and spend time with those closest to them for a well deserved respite break away from hospitals and the trauma of having a critical illness."
(made this one available for $1 Patreons too for increased donation potential)
Cheers everyone!
