Joining Luke for his final 13 miles (having ran 2,350 from the northernmost tip of Norway!)

Morning all! Some of you will have seen my Instagram post last week - here's the little accompanying video.

A few months ago a young lad from my running club called Luke, who had only taken up running 2 years prior, decided he was going to run 4000km from the northern most tip of Norway all the way to London - something that had never been done before.

His friends and family all thought he'd gone mad, but he went anyway.
We all followed his journey on Strava as he regularly smashed out 35 mile days in true Russ Cook fashion, and despite a few logistical nightmares he slowly but surely eeked his way down Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and finally into England.

In this video I attempt firstly to get myself across London and successfully intercept Luke somewhere on the outskirts, before joining him for his final half marathon, hopefully seeing him through to his Trafalgar Square finish line where his friends, family and a few treats await.
Despite Luke having already ran well over a marathon when i intercepted him, I almost definitely slowed him down.

Luke's heroics have already raised £10,095 for kid's village but he'd be delighted with a couple more donations just in case any of you would like to chip in:
https://givestar.io/gs/luke-bellingham--norway-to-london-run

"Kids' Village is building the UK's first respite holiday village just for children with critical illnesses and their families. A place where they can be themselves again and spend time with those closest to them for a well deserved respite break away from hospitals and the trauma of having a critical illness."

(made this one available for $1 Patreons too for increased donation potential)

Cheers everyone!

having legitimate and rational concerns about your countries future does not make you racist.

Just looked more into the Kids' Village charity and it's great to see that a few days after this video was posted, they announced that they had met their base funding target. As someone with a severely disabled sibling charities like that are dear to me and I know how much difference they can make to families. Massive credit to Luke, GeoWizard, and everyone else who raised awareness of the initiative and helped them get towards that goal. Also Luke is absolutely mental for running that far and to still be smiling at the end. And pulling it off only a couple of years after he started running is even more wild.

Unsubscribing after unbelievable revelation you've been publicly supporting + even doubling down in defense of Reform, and their hostile lies about foreigners 'taking over the UK'!! Your only way out Tom is to put a vid on your main channel calling Nigel Farage a racist C*** and explaining how you fell for the oldest trick ever... but, after a good long think, you now recognise him and Trump as divisive con men and the number 1+2 threats (aside from people like you trusting them) to our great outdoors, civil libertys, and a world where people in need are supported not shunned ... i.e what you and this channel/community are built off and all about! Do it- you know its true!!

This is not an airport, no need to announce your departure.

Been feeling a bit sad lately about revelation of Tom’s promotion of Reform. I especially didn’t like Tom’s own explanation quoted in the Reddit. Not angry just disappointed sort of thing. Had me questioning a feeling of connection I felt as an audience member. So cancelled my fairly longstanding patreon membership for that reason and for that reason alone, despite loving Geowizard content for years. Don’t know if I’ll rejoin someday. Hopefully. It’s not like he doesn’t have a (far) right to his own opinion. I’m just not going to pay money every month towards a handle that apparently has been going around liking and sharing posts promoting farage and the hard right. I expect this comment to be deleted. To be fair it’s nothing to do with the vid. But felt a need to throw a hopefully not unkind thought into the wind before my membership ceases. Peace, love and mercy! 🩵

Does anyone else agree that he would write an interesting book? I just got into reading on a paper white kindle and that may be an easy way for him to write it and share it with everyone. I feel like hearing his early beginnings and his love of the outdoors in a written form would be an amazing read. He has great life advice.
