Risking life and limb in oceans of fallen trees to keep the mission alive (ENGLAND PART 2)

Good evening patreons! Here's episode 2 for you. Hope you enjoy.

Some speech might be difficult to hear - use good speakers/headphones if possible and use the man made subtitles

Day 1 of my most ambitious adventure to date continues and not only is there plenty more farmland to sneak through, but there is also unforeseen trepidation ahead. Completing this epic 14 mile day would deliver me to the freedom of the remote and rugged lands of Northumberland. If the farmers don't have something to say about that however, ghastly swathes of fallen trees left by recent storms certainly would...

$4 TIER: I am technically on paternity leave but I'm hoping to get a little something filmed for you in the week which will hopefully be with you the following week :)

Risking life and limb in oceans of fallen trees to keep the mission alive (ENGLAND PART 2)

I think it would just be a burden. If it's light enough to carry then it'll never be strong enough for climbing over a hedge

Nick Marchant

I was wondering, have you ever considered not wearing Camouflage? If I was a Farmer in rural England, watching someone in Camouflage entering my properties, I'd be very cautious and fearful even... If that person were to wear something less soldier-y, I'd look at that more relaxed I think. Congratulaions to Verity and you! You're a lovely couple and you will be fabulous parents!

Having a child changes your outlook on life Tom - I've been there recently. Things that you'd have done in a heartbeat previously, you stop and think about when you have a kid. There's nothing to be ashamed of, you're putting your family first and that's admirable. It may sound stupid, and kinda against the spirit of these adventures - but have you ever thought about trying to carry a lightweight collapsible ladder or something for parts of your missions where you're likely to encounter these fallen trees?

Phil Christies

Im so late to this party, watching them tonight. Also, Northumberland is my home ❤️. Such a beautiful place

CS

Boy or girl? Congrats Tom and Verity! 😊

Laura Elise

Great series so far! Also love that you're still using the same music of yours, it's giving me nostalgia to watching Wales 1 for the first time!

George Lunn

Hi Tom! I just subscribed here on Patreon after seeing this new Mission, and I wanted to let you know that I found it surprisingly difficult to find you here on Patreon! There's the link in the youtube video, ofc., but just typing in "Geowizard" directly on patreon showed me 2 other channels (TTSVoiceWizard, Jonas Kwiedor) as suggestions and I had to go into "See all results" to find you. Very minor thing of course and not "difficult" to do if you know it, but it's just a bit strange to me and it did make me question and double check if you had a patreon when you first didn't show up. So maybe something patreon could answer or explain, because it would be a shame if people didn't do the double-check I did, or just said f**k it and didn't try further, just because there's something weird with how you show up in the search results. Could also just be me who had this issue, but in any case, thanks for the years of fun and advanture I could very comfortably join you on and best wishes to you and Verity!! Cheers!

NR

for the fallen tree sections I would think putting microspikes on your shoes would be a wise step (pardon the pun).

Congrats to you & Verity! Hope you guys are all well. Loving this series so far, didn’t realise how much fear fallen trees could strike into me just from watching though!

Arrghjay

agreed mate, I was treading a fine line. I figured the force at which they would have come down would have planted them pretty solidly into that position, but what do I know.. Best of luck with the birth of your second child!

tom davies

hopefully yes! but He'll be a busy guy now

tom davies

Leaving this video with the urge to play kerplunk, no idea why

Gemma Morris

Sitting here watching this episode when I stopped to think what a profound impact your videos have on my week. I usually dislike sundays and get the monday blues in advance, but when ever a series of yours is running I wake up excited to make a proper fancy breakfast to have with the episode and my mood starts of at 10/10. Thanks for that man!

Imraduin

Lil boy or girl???

Handsy Billy

Great effort Tom. Fully appreciate the difficult judgement calls. Onwards!

LordLard

lol I know Tom, just messing around. Great video btw. Always look forward to these.

Dan Melone

Honestly can’t believe you made it through those pines. So dangerous, especially those underneath parts where just one wrong shift of weight could leave you pinned or worse. Be careful mate, the little one will need you. That being said, I know you’re a professional. Having a kid changes a person. I used to do a lot of spelunking prior to having a kid, including semi water filled challenges… now I just can’t face that rush. Anyhow, enough waffling from me. Hope all is well with the newborn, I’m now six weeks away from the second. Depending on how many parts there are to this series, I could be watching the finale from the delivery room! I just hope my kid can make it a straight line mission into the world from the womb… ok, that’s just too weird. Apologies.

Stuart Duncan

Paternity Leave indeed! Congratulations to you both! I'll watch the vid in a bit...

LordLard

Brilliant thank you! Quite concerned by the last few seconds of next week's preview though. Look after yourself!

James M Errington

I've been looking forward to this all week

vince

Trooper you are Tom, anything lined up with Russ Cook in the near future?

Chilled

Thanks for the quick answer. Looking forward to it

Big Fudge

Yes, I agree. I’ve suggested in the past a “Verity Cam”

Hannah Samuels-Lyons

Have you considered having the support crew film themselves? I think it would make as an interesting mini series.

Alec

I think there's an audio issue at 12:15.

Alex Biardo

I agree, they are kinda fun! It's mainly the fact I was on my own that makes it so unnerving..

tom davies

in UK garden means back yard!

tom davies

Finished all my Saturday todos around the house, took one to the dome, then I see the next video has dropped. Great start to the weekend, cheers.

Alec

That van is an absolute gamechanger for a mission like this. Obviously there's the shelter/supplies element, but mostly I just can't imagine there being even the slightest chance of getting through this one without having two friendly faces and a warm van to struggle towards each day. It's an emotional support van with added benefits.

Ben Whiting

Thanks Tom for putting this up at Champions 🏆 League Final time, 👏 but F**K IT Straight line trumps it Lol 😆

Steve Wainwright

The Master returns! I've done my fair share of beasting plantations, those fallen sections are a nightmare true enough, but you navigated 2 of them in good time - let's hope you keep it up and persevere! You have to do this!

Andrew Tomlinson

strangely, i dont find the forests dangerous, just a fun obstacle course but i do love chaos :D.

Billy Richardson

I'm digging the zoom effect in the edits! Pass it on to the new editor.

Kevin Tabb

Tom kept saying he was going to have to go through someone’s garden, but never did. Just their back yards. I didn’t even see a garden.

Dan Melone

It knew.

Jay

The irony of a shipping container with massive letters saying GOLD immediately after a 28 metre deviation 😂

John Hammond

I reckon we will do another one of these yes! He's currently travelling the world, but when he's back I'll try and get him on board!

tom davies

I've thought about it yeah, it's just hard to know where the really bad patches will be, and as light as some of them are, perhaps not quite light enough!

tom davies

Thanks for the feedback Adam, I'll take it on board!

tom davies

Another corker. Wanted to ask if you re planning on doing another video with your brother, where you guys try to live from the land? I really enjoyed that one. Thanks Tom

Big Fudge

So so so happy

Dustin Geddes

The good thing is that we at least know you made it through alive, as we are seeing these videos.

Ewoud van Aalst

Curious if you've ever though about bringing a light, telescopic ladder along some of these? Mostly for those wooded sections, I used to lay a ladder down on blackberry patches to climb over them

Ethan Custodio

The abandoned chicken place was actually (probably very active) pheasant shelters that they use to breed then ultimately hunt them

Hannah Samuels-Lyons

Champions league's on mate!?

Rhys Edwards

Tom, mate, you have an uncanny knack for posting videos that do the job of brightening my spirits just as I’m in the middle of an absolute shit day. I was rightly moping around the house when this arrived. Thank you so much, your content is top notch.

Charley Kline

Huge congratulations agin Tom! Thank you for still making content for us even on paternity leave! Much love x

Rod P.D

Congratulations Tom on the birth of your baby!

James Taylor

100% love this kind of content but as a top tier sub I just wish we would get these videos a good couple of days before it's released on YT not just 24. It's just a thought and I totally get YT is part of your income just makes patreon feel that bit more special.

Adam

Paternity leave! Congratulations!!

Martyn

Bro the champions league final just started 😂

Gary

Released just as the champions league final starts. You tease 😂

Mark Furniss

GET IN, this has saved my night

Mani Batchelor

Let's go
