Crossing Wales in a straight line just became a race

On the 18th of January 2023 I received an email from my most capable competition yet warning me of their imminent plans to be the first people to cross Wales in a completely straight line. There was only one thing for it; I had to beat them to it.
Join me in what I was desperately hoping would be my fourth AND final attempt at this gruelling feat of stealth and endurance, using all of my past experience to execute the perfect strategy over what was a very hazardous line.
Part 1 sees me tackle the farmland heavy first 8 miles before heading up into the steep and remote wilderness that would dominate the rest of the trip.
Will I be victorious? or am I destined to fall short once more?

2023-04-24 11:10:10 +0000 UTCYep this is the best and most flexible way. I think sensor ratio has changed on the very latest GoPro models but it’s only got even more square (8:7). I think also you’d maybe have some trouble if you wanted to end up at 4K, as you can’t do 4:3 at a resolution high enough that will give you a 16:9 4K crop, but 1080 is more than enough for these videos.

2023-04-24 02:23:19 +0000 UTCFor future endeavors, just keep the aspect ratio as 4:3 because the horizontal resolution still remains the same as with 16:9, the widescreen mode just crops the footage. If you record in 4:3 then you can crop it by yourself to 16:9 in post. But tbh, I prefer the wide angle 4:3 that has more info.

2023-04-23 10:03:56 +0000 UTCHey Tom, you might be able to squeeze out a better video quality from YouTube if you export and upload at a larger resolution (1440p or even better 2160p) even if your source footage is only 1080p. YouTube just compresses 1080p too much.
