One pleasant Friday afternoon in May 2021 me and the lads from Kinds of Light were enjoying a pint in Digbeth after doing some recording. The place we went for a beer was sandwiched right between two iconic and pretty massive Victorian Viaducts. I remembered reading that despite having been built for over 150 years, not a single train had passed over the southern viaduct. So, a pint down and basically invincible, we decided to go on a bit of an adventure. Was it possible to actually get up onto the abandoned viaduct and see what was up there? The answer was yes, and while I took no footage of the entry, we did manage to film some pretty interesting stuff. Hidden among the overgrown shrubs of the viaduct we found a mysterious waterpipe and a man hole cover with a working fax number on it, however unfortunately there was no answer. As we made our leave to the sound of Toto's Africa, we found an abandoned old lorry full of tacky wedding furniture, before clambering our way back over the fences and onto the road without being seen. Well, almost..
