MTV made a documentary on my mate Jim ( I feature in it)

Not all of you will know this but back in 2017 one of my best mates from school, James Brindley, was brutally murdered whilst walking home from the pub, just a couple of hundred metres from his house. The motive is still a mystery, and the sentences were a joke.

In January I was interviewed by MTV about Jim and last night it aired on MTV UK as part of a true crime documentary series. I still haven't seen the first half of it yet, but apparently some of my interview made it on.

Here's the programme - It's on Sky: https://www.sky.com/watch/title/series/3d725ea6-d5be-49bc-a5cb-cf121386b38d/true-life-crime-uk-3d725ea6-d5be-49bc-a5cb-cf121386b38d

There's a good chance this is unavailable to a lot of you, even those in the UK as you have to pay for sky, but I'd just thought I'd share it with you just in case you're able to watch it.

Jim was such an incredible guy, loved by all who knew him. There is no doubt in my mind that he was completely innocent in all of this, but because of the blatant lies told by the killers, we will never know what happened that night or why he was killed. The sentences that were dished out are a sickening miscarriage of justice.

Not sure what else to say, just thought I'd share this with you as it's something very important to me.

Take it easy everyone and have a great weekend. Lots of Patreon treats to come in May, including the bonus footage from the survival trip (all tiers), urban exploration at the abandoned cottage where they filmed tots tv (with Ben, $4 tier), a pretty stupid straight line mission across Britain's biggest roundabout (with Ben, $4 tier) and an Old School Runescape Pking video (with Melentrio, 62 range, 42 combat) and more!

Thanks everyone!

So sad to hear about this mate. Hopefully justice will be served.

That's really a heartbreaking story, seeing how many hearts James touched it seems the world really lost a good human being that night. I hope you can hold on to all the good memories you sure have with him, Tom. RIP, James. For all without a UK Sky account there is currently a copy of this documentary on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi5cmyPWtuo

I remember you mentioning him in the first Straight Line mission. RIP.

Walked in on my mum watching this and thought I'd recognized you, started watching it with her. Very sorry for you loss. May he rest in peace.

I take comfort in the fact, we're all going to die. May your friend rest in peace, in spite of the lies 🖤

I'm so sorry for your loss, Tom. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to lose a dear friend like that.

Heard about this story in multiple videos and streams, always sad when my mind is cast back to it. So sorry for your loss. Sounds like the murder was totally and utterly reasonless. Someone needs to upload this to YouTube for the masses to watch it on 👀

Cheers Arben. It's crazy the contrast between a big dirty city like Brum where gang culture fills the streets like a disease, and the tranquil country side of Slovenia, where people live off the land and invite strangers in for food and shelter. Worlds apart. All we can do is be good people, stick up for what we believe is right and make what ever difference we can, something Jim believed so strongly in.

Awful Joe. You're right it is astonishing. Let's hope the killers regret it for the rest of their lives, at the very least.

So sorry for your loss Tom. Rest in Peace, Jim. Hope maybe this documentary brings more of the truth to light.

That’s awful, I’m so sorry. Stories like this just make me despair. I try to remember that one reason I really love your How not to travel Europe series is because it’s like an advert for the best of humanity. the kindness of strangers, the joyful and unpredictable situations that arise when you just talk with people. It really inspires me to get out there. But I live in brum and tragedies like this i read far too often make me sick. I don’t know what to feel or how to behave

so incredibly sad, sorry for your loss Tom. Watching that documentary I couldn't help but notice the similarities between this case and the murder of Ryan Passey that happened in my hometown of stourbridge, another fairly quiet town on the outskirts of Brum. Astonishingly the justice system was again just as pathetic and the killer walked away scott free.

Incredibly sad, Rest in Peace Jim.

I remember your tribute to him as you were crotch deep in a freezing river. R.I.P mate x

Sorry for your loss Tom, rest in peace Jim.

Such a tragic story, sorry for your loss. For anyone who doesn't have sky, you can see part of Tom's interview about 32 seconds into this video: https://videos.dailymail.co.uk/video/mol/2021/04/28/4087752997066292427/640x360_MP4_4087752997066292427.mp4

Sorry about James, I'll try to watch the documentary.

Not sure what to say except sorry for your loss Tom.
