In December 2019, Greg and I decided to recreate one of the classic missions we used to embark on when we were teenagers. Partly because I needed the footage for the mission across Europe videos, but also because it was bound to be a laugh. Historically these missions usually involved throwing on some old trainers and crap clothes, stuffing a fiver in our pockets and walking east. Over time we learned that no matter where we went, something fun or interesting would always happen. The missions died out as we matured slightly and became old enough to do adult things like go on nights out or on holiday, but we were hoping that all these years later we could rekindle some of the magic that once was, without feeling too ridiculous.
If we were going to do it, we might as well do it properly, so you can expect to see us mission our way through the likes of quarries, fancy golf courses, a stately home, an abandoned holiday park and much more (as well as your usual farms, hedges and fences.) We even get served a steak bake by an admirer of the channel at our mandatory visit to Greggs Bakery in Lichfield.
You're watching Part 2 of 2 (Lichfield to Handsacre), featuring an creepy old derelict caravan park, an encounter with a desperate looking black swan, and an unplanned, audacious return to an old manor house who's premises we were evicted from about 15 years ago. But would we make it to a country pub in time for the football match?
