Hmm yeah I think it depends. It should be down to discretion really, I don't think a set percentage is the key, there are so many different shapes and sizes, but i totally agree, lopping off the edge of something is not ideal, such as the southern tip of sweden, which ive been considering..

Quick question to Tom and everyone interested in the topic: In general, what should - in your opinion - be the distribution of land mass on either side of a line on "Straight Line Mission Across 'Any Country'"? I've been scouting lines across Finland (as a Finn myself), and the only realistically doable lines are to be found on the very northern part of the country, where you find these thins slabs of land. I feel though, that since 99% of the country's land mass would be to the south of these lines, this wouldn't count as going "across" a country. So I'm proposing and unofficial rule for "Straight Line Missions Across A Country": the line should go through a country at a point, where the distribution of a the country's total (mainland) land mass should be 75/25% at the most. What do you think about this? Very inspiring work again as always!

Great start! Having hiked through plenty of northern Sweden and Norway, that terrain alternating between boulders, arctic birch tree patches, bogs and dried-up rivers is fairly representative. The only part missing is a trove of cloudberries.
