Escape from Monaco (never been so thirsty in my life)

Welcome aboard everyone and thank you so much for supporting me. Here's another offering:

#3 in a series of throwbacks from "Barcelona to Berlin, summer 2016"

Having reached Nice, train hopped to Monaco and found little to do there of any consequence, I aimed for a service station I remembered seeing on the map, due north. I had little idea of how to get there or how tricky the climb would be, which made for an exciting little adventure.

It ended in dramatic style with me having to climb a series of walls (which I annoyingly didn't get on camera) and popping out right at the service station where I indulged in a life-changingly refreshing bottle of water.

To cap it off I was picked up by two lovely, adventurous young French ladies who took me into to Italy. That night we slept on the side of the road in our sleeping bags where I awoke to a lovely view of the Italian coast south of Genoa.

Haha that's mad! I might have been up there mate, staggering about. I'd bloody love to go to a formula one race, especially Monaco. I bet it ain't cheap for a seat though?

Shit I'd better keep making it then!

I didn't Conor! but i remember a fair few people bangin' on about it. I'd love to go one time. We might have been! I saw there around late August. If you saw a pissed up twat singing trouble by coldplay on the Kareoke in Morrisons club then that was me!

It's amazing you seem to have had so much fun in Monaco. I remember visiting Monaco a few years back for my bucket list item of going to the Monaco F1 Grand Prix. Such a blast. And it seems that even though we had completely different experiences in Monaco, we have amazingly fond memories of it. I, enjoying nosebleed seats using binoculars to view multi-million dollar F1 cars blasting by for 0.005 seconds at a time at 150mph, and you, considering drinking water from a random fountain you found in a forest. I remember using my binoculars to view the amazing mountains surrounding Monaco and spotting various hikers way up on the hills. If you were there on an F1 weekend, perhaps I saw you from miles away using my binoculars! I think it may have been 2016 that I was there!

Good idea I think that would be fun

random question - did you go to sziget festival in budapest when you got there in 2014? I was there that year and it occurred to me we could have been in budapest at the same time

Conor

Yeah looking back I should have probably let it run for longer and it probably would have come cold eventually. Just didn't want to get ill. Beautiful place!

tom davies

Isn't it beautiful? My lovely region. But why didn't you drink the water? It is potable
