Chapter 441, censors, and naughty art

The explanation/rant:

I have violated the 'community guidelines' of another website with the particular order of my dangerous language squiggles. I suppose I'll have to put it on the list.

But I've been writing fiction for a decade now, and one thing I've learned: fighting with censors is a fool's errand. I'm too impatient, and they're too stupid. I'm sometimes amazed that in the year of our lord 2025 people are still afraid of little symbols that represent mouth noises. Especially when it concerns consenting adults. Paying adults. Though I suppose I shouldn't be.

Amusingly, with my 'real' writing name, I wrote a story about a rune-shaman in an iron age culture. Trying to show a real superstition of such a time, I had the culture that created these runes afraid to 'finish' them, for fear of angering the gods. So even if you were teaching a child to read and write, for example, you'd make sure they never quite finished drawing a letter completely.

Siily, right? Ridiculous, obviously! But the sentiment remains. Over the years I've had censorious prudes and unimaginative idiots come after me for: cannibalism, 'excessive violence', 'excessive sex', 'extreme language', blood depicted on a sword (blood was OK, a sword was OK, but not blood ON a sword), 'rape' (I put it in quotations because there was no actual rape in the story, though it shouldn't be a problem if there was), probably other things I've forgotten, and now: incest.

Ah yes, what red blooded man could ever fantasize about having a mother and daughter. Or sisters. Heaven forbid, twins! Surely this has never before been depicted in film, play, or text.

Disgusting, gentlemen. How dare you. Surely such a thing is illegal.

I suppose I do have a naughty, dirty, unacceptable little imagination. It often crawls into forbidden nooks and crannies. But for my sake, please don't tell the censors what's going on in the unfiltered, firing neurons before reaching the keyboard is much, much worse. That'd be the end of me.

Until then, my friends, rant over! At least in the 21st century we're dealing with tech bros (and let's be honest, credit card companies) and not the Spanish inquisition...
