2025-12-23 15:29:47 +0000 UTCI’ve seen the show in person and the movie several times, It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village, in the thriving days of the bohemian culture under the shadow of AIDS. Written by Jonathan Larson before he died from arotic dissection, his story is very touching. (Tick …Tick Boom tells his story, played by Andrew Garfield in the film version) He was friends with Most of the cast from the original production, who are in the movie. I remember watching it years ago with my daughter when she was about 10 and it made her fall in love with theatre. A truly great production and film.

Think an early version of a Succession type show where there is interfamilial struggles over money and power. Back when the 3 major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) ruled it was a very big and popular show.
