The bullet-catching trick was very popular in the nineteenth century but they stopped doing it because so many things kept so going so dangerously, and sometimes fatally, wrong, not just with the basic original trick but with different variations of it. As a child, I read about a performance in the old west, which went perfectly except that one cowboy, actually believing that the magician had demonstrated an ability to catch a bullet, enthusiastically fired several shots at the man while urging him to catch some more - so that was the end of that magician.
Michael Caine has done so much great stuff in his career, but I especially recommend his Oscar-nominated performance in the 1972 film Sleuth, where he stars alongside Laurence Olivier; it's another of those movies where the twists keep coming and you keep trying to figure things out right up until the end.

Bravo VIP. You got Asia and BJ deliberating at the end. But you all miss the point. Alfred Helped Batman Defeat Wolverine including the Black widow. DC and Marvel(black widow) took down "THE WOLVERINE!!!!!!" Chalk it up for a win
