There is also a documentary about it called the battle of Long Tan. Danger Close is a code for calling in artillery strikes on your own position because the enemy is overunning you. You will be killed along with the enemy, but some of you may survive. Relatives of the soldiers who were in the battle, played the soldiers parts in the movie.

2025-05-29 01:43:33 +0000 UTCI remember watching this for the first time, thinking that only one black hawk was going to go down, and then being overwhelmed by ongoing challenges. I have a friend who was in Mogadishu with his family during the battle (before they were resettled as refugees in Canada), and he described how harrowing it was from his family's perspective. They didn't use any Somali actors for this film, and there are some historical inaccuracies in the depiction of the Battle of Mogadishu.

In addition, thereโs a much lesser known movie called Taking Chance that I highly recommend. Andโฆwhen the epileptic soldier was watching the Steve Martin movie, that was The Jerk. I highly recommend that one next time you feel like a comedy.

He's a great actor and I'm glad he's had a resurgence in recent years with Oppenheimer and Trap. He's also one of the leads in Pearl Harbor. I'm a little too harsh on Pearl Harbor. I do still enjoy it. "The Faculty" and "Halloween H20" are two personal favorites with Josh Hartnett I believe this was Tom Hardy's first movie. Some of the actors are almost unrecognizable.
